Account Activation..

Is there someway i can make it where it is automatic activation of an new account? I feel like because they either have to wait for an admin to activate them OR have to go to there mail they decide its not worth the hassle of joining or they just forget later. If not is there a way that i can let moderators accept account activations also? Cause i use the Admin Activate way, and i dont always remember to check inactive accounts daily, or i do not come on every day, and after a day new members might just forget about it. And if there is a way to let moderators activate accounts, can there be pop ups sent to the moderators PM everytime someone creates a new account, so mods, and myself wont forget to activate the account?
