Is anyone having trouble with Facebook? Empty Is anyone having trouble with Facebook?

I am having trouble with Facebook....

Hi, my name is Aslinn and I am the co-admin of http://truebloodcouncil.forumotions.net/forum

Recently, we celebrated our first anniversary and to celebrate, I changed the skins on my forum and the version from phpBB2 to phpBB3 and the next morning, Facebook said our site was spam and would not let me link the site to my facebook page. The message says: This message contains blocked content that has previously been flagged as abusive or spammy. Let us know if you think this is an error. Then when I went into Facebook to see what could be done about it, they write: I received an error message saying that a link I want to post has been reported as abusive.

Further, they said:

You're seeing this error message because the content that you've attempted to post on the site has already been reported as abusive by other Facebook users. You should be able to edit your account if you do not include the offending text or URLs.

If you believe there is no abusive content on the specific website you are trying to post, unfortunately, the web domain that hosts the website has already been identified as abusive. Facebook does not have control over content that is hosted by particular web domains. To request the removal of abusive web pages that may be hosted by this domain, you will have to contact the specific domain provider.

For more information about prohibited content, please visit the Warnings section of the Help Center.

I don't know what all that means, I am a techno tard, but from what I can get out of it...they say it is a Forumotion problem... that Forumotion has to do something to straighten this out. And as I have told Facebook's invisible moderators or automatic response program or whatever they are using to ignore me, the only people who see my link to the web site are members of the forum....

Please, if you give me an answer, tell it to me like you are telling a developmentally delayed six year old....explain it step by step...don't just tell me to put some code in some page I don't even know how to get to...but please help me...I use my face book to update our members and keep them informed of activities on the forum..I need your help...

Thanks bunches, and again, I am sorry if I am doing this wrong.....

I have no idea. You should make sure your forum doesn't have any illegal content or something. We can't really do much in this case.

Has anyone been able to resolve this? This is what comes up when I asked the question on FB

It says you need to contact the domain provider to get them to remove the abusive web pages, I have lost many new members who have tried to click the link on my FB page to take them through to my forum because of this as it comes up that it is abusive. =(

Warnings › I received a warning from Facebook.

http://teamtwilightnz.forumotions.net/

by the way this is the link that has been deemed abusive on FB, so it now seems that a particular web domain was deemed abusive and because we are also connected to the Forumotions domain we have also been seen as an abusive website?

Well, as we said we cannot do anything if they have blacklisted your forum url. You have two choices, convince the facebook guys that you had nothing illegal & falsely someone has reported your site. 2nd Choice is to change the forum url.

Yeah it's something with facebooks TOS.
Someone reported your site for something on facebook.

You have to contest it to them , there is nothing forumotion can do in this situation because it's a facebook TOS, policy.

Just to be safe, i would go through and make sure you dont have violations taking place on your forum, because if someone flagged your site and reported it on facebook, then you want to bet they will report it to forumotion to, so if you have violations then forumotion will either warn you or shut the forum down.

And i am not saying you do, but facebook is not just going to block a reported site unless it was a legitimate complaint.. the same way forumotion would never shut a site down for a fake/bogus report of someones forum.

To be honest, Facebook is a pain in the Butt, it's almost imposable to even get answer from them, and theirs nothing you can do but keep sending them messages explaining your situation and hope they reply.

I would even send them the link to this thread, for all you know people was just clicking the flag/report site thing, and they just blocked it without even investigating..Like i said above it's not like they would do this unless it was legit, but there's so many freaking people on facebook, you dont know what their staff is going to do? they may have just blocked it due to the fact they kept receiving reports?

I dont trust facebook at all,

i had to wait almost three months for some facebook developers questions i had, they send me a code on my cell phone, but when i put the code it kept saying it was not valid, and i could not get another one sent because it kept saying it was already sent.. finally after like three months i got it straightened out. But yeah the morons sent me a invalid code.. Go figure.

They dont have the resources and staff to keep up.. thats what it comes down to.. ya think... lol

I am the one who originally had this topic. The solution I came up with is I created a small banner with our website logo and the site address and I use it on every post concerning my site on FB....No, it is not a link, but it alerts people that I want to notice the message there is new or exciting information on the forum for them to check out.

I don;t trust FB either....It's either like Kirk says, it is they are unable to do anything about it because they are understaffed and they get x number of complaints and they automatically just put you on their list or like I think, they simply have it automated and after x number of people click the report button, they kick you...Sigh....What can you do? Not much I am afraid...

Yeah. You can do what they said. I would go with what Kirk said though.
