special spamm guards

Its seems the classical captcha spam safeguard isn't working all that well, recently. (the one where you get a line of barely readable words to type out) I suggest some customizable new spam safeguards, like a questioneer: Who was the 27th president? And typing in the correct number means you are human. After a spam bot went into my forum, I'm not taking an chances.

I'd vote no

1. What if you don't know the answer?
=> I'm not gonna do a google search for a post

2. Guests can't post links, and there's an image to validate

3. Humans spam too, and they'll always pass anti non-human stuff

Caihlem, the problem is that the image doesnt work as well anymore. quite some programs can pass it already. And I personally think that its just time till' the image checker is obsolete... Humans that spam? Well, you can't stop everything, but you can minimize the amount, right?

The problem of such questions, in any spam "guard", is that Forumotion forums & their prospective members come from all over the world. It would be difficult to devise a set of spam-preventing questions that people, from different parts of the world, could answer that spambots couldn't. These spambots are very clever & such questions would be dead easy for them to be programmed to answer, I would imagine.

We just have to be vigilant in protecting our forums.
