Member name restricted to 8 letters

As my forum is in Chinese, that translated to only 4 Chinese characters which is rather limitted. I have checked other editboard forums and looks like this is a problem with my forum. Could anyone help to solve the problem? Or, is this normal? Thanks in advance.

Problem still remains. It is not nice to allow members to use 8 English letters (4 Chinese words) as member name. Can somebody please help to rectify it. Thanks many much.

Hello,

I will see if the problem can be solved, probably the chinese characters are considered as 2 characters because thez take more bits in the database.
