Important Announcement
New Update: JavaScript Code Management



Hello,

In an effort to continuously improve our services, and in response to numerous requests from our members and the difficulties they have had to host their Javascripts files on an external service, we offer you today a new update for hosting your own JavaScript & jQuery codes directly on your forums. :wouhou:



This new feature has appeared in your admin panel>> Modules>> HTML & JavaScript>> JavaScript codes management



With this new feature, you can easily host and manage the javascript codes you wish to place on your forum pages directly from your administration panel. Therefore, your scripts can be automatically called on the pages of your choice and are directly inserted into the head section <head>...</head> of the page.



These scripts are of course available for editing and / or deletion from your JavaScript code management in the admin panel:



The applications of this innovation are endless and can completely transform your forum. They are limited only by your imagination and your JavaScript skills ... Wink

For members with a forum on PhpBB2 or PunBB version and with modified templates overall_header

You will need to update your own custom overall_header template by searching the code

Thank you very much for finally developing a GOOD update. Haven't seen one for a while!

I tried this out and it all worked like a charm. However, I think it'd be pretty cool to choose where you wanted the script to be added to, instead of just between <head></head> tags. If we could have an option to make it be added in the head, body or footer, it'd be spectacular.

Other than that, thanks for this. Finally the IE9 compatibility issues are gone! Very Happy

This is a great update for two reasons.

First, it fixes the problem with IE9 (and IE8 after the November 2010 update) not being able to load HTML script files.

And second, because it uses Doug Crockford's JSMin to minify the scripts, it forces people to use javascript that is well-formed. (I said "use" because I've noticed that most people here on forumotion don't write their own scripts. I thought about saying more but figured it would get me banned...)

To the staff here: for this reason, expect some reports of scripts that do not work when saved with this new feature. It's because the scripts were poorly-written and cannot be minified.
