Spamming?

I received this email from a new member:
Please remove my name and email from your list. Since I gave you my email I've been spammed by 10 different companies within the last few hours. I am no longer interested in joining your forum so please remove my sign up information from your files and don't pass on my information to others.

Is this accurate that member information is shared with the hosting company and the email account holders spammed?

Only the thing you can do is remove the person account from your forum. I do not believe that those emails came from people that got information from Forumotion. Did the person say the emails were coming from your forum? It could be members are sending the person emails from your forum.
