bots are harmless as forumotion protects emails and other personal info. They belong to search engines and are what help list your site in search engine results.

you cant use them, they just come and index your pages then leave again.

you have yahoo! bots but at my index have goggle bots Sad

dont worry honestly. If you want your site to appear in google, yahoo etc, then it needs bots from these search engines to index your forum, and they will keep coming to look for updates of it etc. as forumotion provides protection from the bots displaying posts from your forum, privacy is still respected, all in all its a positive thing.

Yes, you should just ignore the bots. They come and go whenever they want.

I have read all the threads about the bots but I'm still very concerned. Our forum is a PRIVATE forum and we do not want our forum to be seachable by any search engines. How can bots access a forum that is private to only members with login names and passwords? How can they even gain access? I want them gone. How do I get rid of them. You talk about code. Where do I put this code to make them stop coming to our Forum?

Please help! Our members don't like it.

I understand we will never see them in our forum but they are still there just not visible! I don't want our forum searchable by Search Engines. Someone mentioned a code that you can put in (somewhere??) to stop Bots from accessing our forum. Could someone give me the code and tell me where to put it.
