Create a welcome members(username) message box?

Is it possible to create a welcome message box to which can redirect members with their usernames as soon as they log in to the forum? If this is possible, how do I do that?

Well you can choose to sent a Pm to every new registered member and as for them to have there own names to appear you can say something like Welcome

Code:

{username}

and instead of username it will appear the name of the member who reads that

Yes it is possible. Go to admin panel=>General=>Configuration=>Private messages & E-mail. Look for this option "Allow welcome private message" Choose Enabled and then add in the "Message subject" box the subject of the message and in the "Welcome private message" add the actual message.

Is there a fixed length of characters for this private message? My latest one is truncated after I added some html link code. I've rechecked the code but cannot double check how this message will appear to a new member unless I sign up as a new member...am I missing something in this section of the admin panel?

What is this? im a bit confuse can i use it on my main page where users whos logged in will be greeted like if i login it will say WELCOME diRTy DOUG and if the users didnt logged in it will just say WELCOME ANONYMOUS, is this it?

I just received the Welcome Message with {username}

hi, try make it CAPS letter.

it should work
