How do I add/move things on my homepage.

I would like to know how to move things like links and stuff and add avatars and how many posts you have on my homepage but I can't seem to figure out how like for the user and I want to put news and stuff on the left side and I would like to know how to add more things to were you register. Oh also when I type the website in it brings me to the portal screen when I want it to bring me to the homepage anything I can do to fix that?

Follow the image, for the forums as home-page part, I have forgotten how to do it. I only remember the hard way of doing it. If you have the /forum.htm it will bring you there, but there's an option to make the forums the default page.

okay I understand that but how do I add widgets and stuff to the homepage and make it so when you type the address to my website in you come to the homepage not the portal because I am going to use that as a info page I think

When pressing structure, you scroll down and there are a list of widgets (Existing Widgets) that you can drag with the mouse into the left, center, right, top or bottom, to show what position you want the widget to be. You can create your own html widget by pressing custom block, as well.

I said before, I forgot how to make the forums as the home page. I only remember the hard way I used to do it, which was an html page which is defined as the default page, that automatically redirected you to a link, which would be the forums page.

I figured it all out besides how to add things to the register field and in the forum it shows my profile info on the right side and I want it on the right like my avatar and stuff how do I change what side it's on like here it is on the right rite by this message.
