Admin Control Panel keeps going back to homepage

Hi can someone plz help. I have a really annoying problem that links in my admin control panel randomly take me back to the homepage of the admin. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and it makes it really hard to get anything done.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try Cleaning your History, Cookies, etc... or even trying a differnet Broswer like FireFox.

have you enabled cookies?

I've tried different browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera), I've tried 3 different pc's at home.

My main browser is firefox and I've enabled cookies and third party cookies. I've tried clearing all cookies, browser cache, etc and still no luck.

The weird thing is I used to be able to use it fine from my work pc.

Did you allow your forums URL to allow list on your Virues Protection and Broswer list?

Well I use AVG antivirus and link scanner is disabled, not sure if theres anything else that could be causing a problem

Sometimes it could be the internet Provider. Sometimes there is an error in the connection.

If you don't do anything in your Admin Panel for a period of time, when you go to click somewhere it does take you back to the Admin index page.

well not sure if its an ISP thing or not and the problem occurs even if I click a link immediately after the page has loaded

I've been having the exact same problem. I've been trying to make changes to my forum and everytime I go back to admin home. It's very frustrating.

Anyone no whats causing this issue. I still have it and it's very frustrating

I to am having the same issues. I can't maintain my board or change smilies or anything. I hope I don't have fall & Thanksgiving smiles for the next yr.. Its very annoying..

I had this problem in the past, sometimes, when I hadn't visited my forum for a long time. I tried some times and then it worked. It still happens sometimes.

Problem is, I just created this forum recently

I'm with you guys! I'm having the same problem!
I created my message board about three weeks ago. All was fine then. In fact, as late as Nov 11 I could get into 'Categories and Forums'. Now, I can't! I can get into all the other topics on the General page (configuration, forum address, security, etc) but not categories and forums! It bounces me back to the Home page every time!
Very frustrating!

I have a new admin & can't even put color to her name..

Is there any indication that this problem will be solved soon or if it's solvable at all? Any communication will be greatly appreciated...

I get the feeling this is a bug in the forum software. I've tried everything I can think of with no results.

I guess all we can hope for is that it gets fixed soon. Administrating my forum is a real nightmare.

Try this, it worked for me! I got completely out of AOL (my browzer, I guess) and connected to my Message Board through IE. It worked! I can click on 'categories and forums' on the 'General' page and not be bumped back to the Home page.

ok so i recently change the domain name of my forum to a registered one and now the problem seems to be gone. Maybe that can give some clues as to whats causing this

No clue. And it happens to me now too.

How do you get a 'registered' domain name? Whereas I an get into my forum, most of my members cannot access it. They get the 'you are not registered' run-around. So when they try to re-register, they get the 'that email address is already registered' speech. It seems that I am the only registered one who can access my forum now!
