I not am giving away my age but I am not an adult and I want to know how I can block this user from pm'ing me. She is obviousley a pedo if she is sending me them kind of pm's.

So my question is how do I block this dirty user from pm'ing me.

The purpose of this pm's was obviously to gather email addresses in general, the exact same message has been sent to more than 100 users, including myself and other staff members. This user has been banned already nonetheless. Smile

Dont get too worried I am 63 years old and I get them too.
I think as Sunny D already said it is fishing for email addresses, she or he always asks you to email her, as soon as you do that she or he, will have your email address.
Do NOT respond in any way to this person, just report them and try not to worry.

I have seen alot of similar pms being sent here recently and we ban these members immediately. The problem with stopping these PM spammers is that we aren't aware of it until some one notifies us about it because these members do not post on the forum , but strictly via pms.
So as Mamabear has stated, there really isnt any need to panic, simply notify a member of staff and we will handle these issues accordingly. Wink

Oh please - who or whatever the source of these PM's is would have no idea what the age of the recipient was, therefore making ridiculous charges of being a pedophile is just silly.

Even if the sender does not know the age of the recipiants age, in a court of law that person can be charge with pedofile crimes.

Send them to a moderator not an admin, and only if it's a username that hasn't been banned yet.

You don't need to forward anything to them.
They all already know that this is true and happening.
The only thing that they can do about it is banned the member and IP.
But, that probably wont stop them from coming back.
And you should forward to moderator, not admins.
Only forward to them if they have different username.

They should get like an auto detected sensor on PM.
Anything relating to this matter, the PM will be deleted. lol.
And yes... that probably cost $$$.

Is not bad...
Human aren't scanning the PM.
And it won't be invading privacy though.
Cause the computer will scan out sentences and words that shouldn't be there. They can even replace the word or sentence.

But there is a pro and a con.

There is no pro or con - it is a violation of your privacy to scan a personal message box in the same way it is illegal for someone to scan your private email for activity. If forumotion tried it - assuming they had the technology to do so - they would be leaving themselves open to litigation that would bankrupt them, for little purpose.

So you get a phishing PM. So what. Delete it and get on with your life the same as you should with spam email. This is all nonsense and a waste of time.
