FORUM Reply Notifications going to forum member on every post in forum

Description of problem

Hi peeps,

We run a clinical forum, which is why I can't post a link to it.

We have 1 Moderator, a specialist, who answers all questions systematically on the forum. When a post goes up and he replies, obviously when there is a reply he gets an email subject: "FORUM Reply Notification" for his attention.

It appears one of our members (only one) is getting this notifications, which are specifically for the Moderator.

Is there any reason why this might be happening? Is there a way his settings could be set to 'Watch all topics'?

Or is it possible this is a bug?

It seems random. I'm struggling to find a solution.

EDIT: I've checked his watched topics in his settings, and the ones he's receiving emails for do not appear to be being watched by his account. So I'm scratching my head wondering why these might be coming through?

Does he have 'send me an email for' checked for all in his profile? This can be checked in his profile prefrences or notification settings.

Make sure all are checked, atleast for replies, watching a topic can mean it only sends out a notification to the fm toolbar up top and/or to the email, it depends how the user has the settings.

Thanks for your response.

I have taken stills of his settings. He is watching his own TOPICS, and receiving email updates on a response which is what we want.

But he doesn't want to receive an update every time a new topic by a different user is posted.

I'm not sure if he's accidentally done something? I can't figure it out. Here's some stills. Do any of these suggest he is asking for email notifications on every new topic?

Okay i see the problem right away That member is watching topic's he has posted in that will send a Email out every time anyone posts in that forum.

what you need to do is to change the settings in he's profile to stop this.

get the member to untick the following things to stop Emails
 A new post in a watched topic: This will stop all Emails for any topic he is watching or forum he is watching

Hi all,

So the user (i did this for them) deactivated the A new post in a watched topic to stop emails. But they continue to get emails on every new topic posted by every forum member. They're getting flooded with notification emails.

Any ideas how I can sort this?

I've tried everything. He gets every single post into the forum going to him. He watches a few topics which he's posted, and that is correct. How do I stop him from watching the entire forum?

He doesn't know either, like me.
