Description of problem

Hello,

I'm trying to understand if there's a bug going on with a topic of mine or if it's a forumotion issue. I have a set topic that I update for a game we play at our forum. I did an update this morning and all of the text I added is gone. In addition all the replies that were in the thread are missing. Outside of three. The original post, an update I did, and one from a member. If you look at our topic it says there's 20 replies but there's only about 3 or so.

When I click edit post all of the post is there, but, when I hit submit, my screen looks weird for a few minutes before going to the page. Then when I look everything I typed is practically gone. There's only so much of the message.

I'm trying to understand what's going on. I can include a written example of how it SHOULD look if that'll help. Is this a problem with my forum or is this a forumotion bug? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

HTML coding not working in boards.

Description of problem

Hey!
So, I currently had this problem before, how ever, i've just realized that the problem ONLY occurs when I am logged in to my founding account.

I have HTML codes in place on the boards to create tables, and they can be viewed when not logged in, or using a different account; but when I log into my founder account I can only see the coding, not the final result.

Is there an easy way to fix this?

Description of problem

With the recent updates to the Forumotion platform, I have received numerous reports that my users cannot post new topics using the mobile interface. They can type a topic title and description but the “Send” button remains disabled.

To investigate this issue, I connected my iPhone to my laptop and viewed the Web Developer console.

Upon page load, the following JavaScript Error occurs:

TypeError: $("#text_editor_textarea").sceditor is not a function. (In '$("#text_editor_textarea").sceditor("instance")', '$("#text_editor_textarea").sceditor' is undefined)

The jQuery element for the textarea seems to resolve correctly but the attached editor instance is undefined. I cannot seem to find it in the scripts included in the mobile template so I am assuming it has been left out by mistake.

Attached are screenshots of the issue and the Developer console.

Portal NEWS widget - show the last message

Technical Details

Forum version : #phpBB2

Forum link : ( link is hidden, you must reply to see )

Description of problem

Hey guys!

I was looking into making a proper news widget to feature the news topic. So it should show the latest message in the topic.

The already suggested by Forumotions widget "NEWS" unfortunately only shows the first message of the topic. (even if the topic has Sort the posts of a topic by : by post date most recent first enabled) any idea if this can be changed?

Also, NEWS widget specifies only selected forum, you cannot choose to always show one selected topic.

Is it possible to show the last message of the selected topic using a script then? Would this work with NEWS widget or a separate widget will have to be created?

Can't access old forum

Description of problem

Hi, I used to run a forum, and there's content on it that I need to remove for potential privacy and copyright violations. The forum has not seen use by its members outside of spambots for many years, and I am totally unable to access it to make use of my own user account and admin tools. I lack the means to contact other users as they no longer use the forum themselves, although it is still publicly viewable and riddled with advertising spambots.

I would like to know if there is any way I can regain access, or request a removal from this site.

Adding extra button to post editor - topic template

Technical Details

Concerned browser(s) : Google Chrome

Forum link : ( link is hidden, you must reply to see )

Description of problem

Hey guys!

I would like to add a custom button to the editor. Like for example this button here: Topics tagged under phpbb2 on The forum of the forums - Page 11 Snippe10

The button would add this code to the message field:
Code:
[temosPavadinimas] userValue1 [/temosPavadinimas]
[temosAprasymas] userValue2 [/temosAprasymas]
[temosIMG] userValue3 [/temosIMG]

The values from the brackets would actually be applied like this:
Code:

<br /><span class="PranesimoAntraste"><center> userValue1 </center></span><div class="PranesimoFonas">
<div class="PranesimoTekstas"> userValue2

[center]<img style="width: 440px" src="userValue3"/>[/center]
</div>
</div>
<br />

Is this possible? Or at least, how to add a button, witch would apply the div code to the editor field?

Message background issue in quates

Description of problem

Hey!

I followed this tutorial for message background:https://help.forumotion.com/t137252-button-to-choose-the-message-background#926885

The issue is, that when quoting a message with a background, it posts something like this:

Code:
[quote="Kami-Sama"][postbg=https://i.solidfiles.com/VVRV5A7R85nnr.png]TEXT[/quote]

The part "postbg=LINK" actually shows in the quote.
Any ideas how to overcome this?

Also, maybe there would be no issue if message background would be applied by default depending on user group? Instead of having ability for user to choose BG himself.

Adjusting default simple profile template

Technical Details

Forum version : #phpBB2
Position : Founder
Concerned browser(s) : Google Chrome
Who the problem concerns : Yourself
Forum link : ( link is hidden, you must reply to see )

Description of problem

So I was changing profile layout and now have couple issues left:

1) By default hovering over profile field appears option to "Edit profile value". After I rearrange this table, the option no longer appears. Any idea how to remain same style and have the "Edit profile value" option? This is may layout now:

Code:
<table border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0">
        <!-- BEGIN profile_field -->
        <tr id="field_id{profile_field.ID}">
          <td width="415px">
            <div class="gen" style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 14px;">{profile_field.LABEL}</div>
            <div class="gen" style="text-align: justify; padding-bottom: 5px;">{profile_field.CONTENT}</div>
            <!-- BEGIN profil_type_user_posts -->
            <span class="genmed">[{POST_PERCENT_STATS} / {POST_DAY_STATS}]</span><br />
            <span class="genmed">
              <a rel="nofollow" class="genmed" href="/st/{PUSERNAME}">{L_SEARCH_USER_POSTS} :</a><br />
              &nbsp;&nbsp;- <a rel="nofollow" class="genmed" href="/sta/{PUSERNAME}">{L_TOPICS}</a><br />
              &nbsp;&nbsp;- <a rel="nofollow" class="genmed" href="/spa/{PUSERNAME}">{L_POSTS}</a><br />
            </span>
            <!-- END profil_type_user_posts -->
          </td>
        </tr>
        <!-- END profile_field -->
      </table>

2) So for example to adjust profile I would use link:https://help.forumotion.com/profile?mode=editprofile

And to adjust RPG profile I would use:https://help.forumotion.com/rpg_sheet_edit

Yet the RPG sheet link does not work. Any ideas how to make a link for user to adjust his RPG profile?
I believe that could be done with a script adding user number to te link... but maybe there is an easier way?

Hello! I am having issues with this part of the template:

            </tr>
            <!-- END contact_field -->
            <!-- BEGIN switch_admin_user_comment_active -->
            <tr>
               <td align="right" valign="middle" nowrap="nowrap" width="50%">
                  <span class="gen">{L_COMMENTS} :</span><br /><span class="gensmall">{L_MODS_AND_ADMINS}</span>
               </td>
               <td class="row1" valign="middle">
                  <table align="center">
                     <tr>
                        <td>
                           {ADMIN_USER_COMMENT}

                     </tr>
                  </table>
               </td>
            </tr>
            <!-- END switch_admin_user_comment_active -->
         </table>

Is there a way to have only buttons listed next to each other?
It seams, that this works only in the table and in the table it creates a separate row for each social media button :/

Description of problem

First of all sorry for my English I know it's not perfect. So I would love to put the poster's group in the profile part of the topic. You know when you post something and on the left (or right) side of the forum there is an avatar picture and stuff. I want to put there the name of the group where the poster belongs. Also I know that I have to do something with the template and I know where because I already put poster rank code in there. This is the code for poster rank: {postrow.displayed.POSTER_RANK} and I am searcing for a code like this for poster group. I tried everything but nothing helps.

Description of problem

Hello!

So I am using code like this:

Code:
 $(".m1").click(function(){
        $(".m1cont").fadeToggle("slow", function() {
           if ($(".m1cont").is(":visible")) {
              $('.ANcontent').css({"background-image": "none", "transition": "1s", "transform" : "all"});
           };
           if ($(".m1cont").is(":hidden")) {
              $('.ANcontent').css({"background-image": "url('https://i.solidfiles.com/k3x8BVeKK3vjy.png')", "transition": "1s", "transform" : "all"});
           };
        });
        $(".m2cont, .m3cont, .m4cont, .m5cont, .m6cont, .m7cont, .m8cont").css("display", "none");
    });

Finally got it to work as intended, BUT the style transition (background image change) is, well, not existant. The image changes according to IF condition, but transition tag does not work. Any ideas how to make it more smooth?

</style>

Can be found here

Everything works fine and I managed to alter the styling to my liking, but for some reason it shows the Staff name as "Valoish" for 2 different users.. (Refer to screenshot).
The user with the mint coloered picture should be "Pantone" and the pink colored picture should be "Valoish"

I'm assuming the issue is coming from this line in the coding
Code:
                        "    <div class='staff-name'>" + elStaff + "</div>" +

but I don't know how to fix it x_x

Alrighty, so heres whats going on. I made this code many moons ago for another site I was on, and decided I wanted to reuse this bad boy. But I lost the actual saved page (as my computer crashed) and when back to said site in question to re-grab the code. But the thing is, and I can't figure this out for the life of me,

The pictures and words aren't going in the proper spots, as you can see with the screen shots the hover image is ontop where the banner is, the name of the staff members, much to low. (It should look like this; https://i.imgur.com/zyELl2d.png )

However it doesn't. I have the full code here;

Spoiler:

With that the border wraps I have around it are customs; I'm unsure if you'll need that code but here it is;

Spoiler:

I've tried using margin codes as well as the position code as you'll see inside of the code. The fully original code is as I said lost, I just really want this to work. Someone please help me! It would mean a lot.

Description of problem

Hello there,

Shortly after creating the forum, I received the activation email of which I was advised to click a link in order to use the website. However, upon clicking it, I received this message (please refer to the screenshot). Initially thinking that the site had not registered, I tried to create the same forum again, however it has notified me that everything has been registered to your system. But for some reason or other, I receive this error message before I have actually done anything beyond registering the forum.

I am unsure of what is going on at this point, and was hoping that you can help me access this newly created website. Many thanks in advance for your time.

Kind Regards,

Solusade

Description of problem

I was wondering if there's any way to redesign the profile page on PHPBB2?
The current appearance of it seems a bit outdated and I'd like to give it a more modern look and one that fits better with the forum.
I believe there's no template for it but maybe it'd be possible with CSS?

Problem with appearance of Forumactif Messenger

Forum link : http://mijntest.actieforum.com/

Description of problem

Hi guys, I have installed on my test forum the Forumactif Messenger by @Ange Tuteur from this topic:
https://help.forumotion.com/t152951-forumactif-messenger-instant-message-application-for-forumotion
My problem is this: I have added it in a widget on a specific portalpage and there it works fine, like you can see on this picture:
How it should be:

But it also appears pagewide at the bottom of every other portal page I have like this:
Messenger at bottom of all portalpages:

This is not what I want, I only want it to be on one portal page.. I have also tried to set placement to topics, with the widgetcode placed into a specific topic but then again the messenger appears underneath every topic there is, only placement in the indexpage has no re-occurences on other pages.

So I was wondering if this is a bug or that it is supposed to work this way? If so then I have to uninstall it, because I don't want to use it in the indexpage of our official forum which is a community for fysical and sexual abused people, and the indexpage has to be used for information only.. so I'm kinda hoping this is a little bug which can be fixed so it only appears at the one portalpage where the widget is placed instead of on all portal pages.

Kindly awaiting any respons to this Confused

Code:

Whenever I try to use one of those font families in my CSS it doesn't show on the forum

The screenshot shows it all, pretty much. I haven't done that many major changes to the forum in the past few days (except enable widgets and add a few of those in) so I'm not too sure why this happened..

Hello. I'd like posts that I've made a decade ago removed from the website if you guys would be so kind. The forum itself is dead, so they wouldn't mind at all.
