Auto Subscribe/unSubscribe in the User Group Administration Panel

Technical Details

Forum version : #phpBB2

Description of problem

Hello, in regards to this closed topic:

https://help.forumotion.com/t159058-members-names-group-colour?highlight=auto+subscribe+in+group+administration

Is there a way to auto unsubscribe members from the current group when they become eligible to auto subscribe to the next level based upon their posting ranks? Or must they remain members of all groups they qualify for:
Ex:
0=Newbies
50= Less Active Members
1000=More Active Members
With 1000 posts, they are still in Newbies and Less Active. Can/should they auto unsubscribe from the first two?

Thank you!

Description of problem

Hi guys!

I managed to put my widgets in a bootstrap sidebar and it works perfectly. My only struggle is that I would like to give my users the chance to decide if they want to have the sidebar opened or closed all the time. Now it closes every time the forum is refreshed.
I've done some research and I found couple of solutions which were using cookies but as I am still pretty incompetent in java matter, I haven't succeed with any of them.

Here is the java code of the menu:
Code:
$(document).ready(function(){$('.menuonclick').on('click',function(){$('.menuall, .menuonclick').toggleClass('opened')})});

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot! Smile

Description of problem

When I try to load my Forum at: http://www.sof-bf4.net/forum

The message says: sof-bf4.net has expired. forumotion hosts my forum and takes care of the internet access that I paid for. But my Website forum can't be accessed by me or anyone. I noticed this on 9/28/2020. Since I can't access my webpage, I can't check in the Administrator Panel to find the problem.

I think the forum version I use in: phpBB2. But I can't access my forum to be sure. I hope the Screen Capture works for you. I'll try to post it to my Flickr account for you.

I don't deal directly with GoDaddy for my web forum. This is done through forumotion. Maybe my payment is due and forumotion doesn't have my new CC number?? How do I get back online???

Hi

I have a user who says she 'messed up registration'. She is getting a message saying

Current date/time is Sat Sep 26, 2020 1:52 pm

Information
The e-mail address you supplied does not match the one listed for that username.

There is no record of her username or address in the list of users in the administration panel.

Any advice on how I can reset things so that she can re-register?

I have posted an "unresolved" issue.

And I find An idea very close to me,
I want to change code,And better achieve the goal I want to solve.
https://help.forumotion.com/t148745-topic-prefix-for-phbb2?highlight=topic

I have tried and used the prefix in my forum now.
I want to ask if this code can be turned into a button.
(Need to change Javascript or CSS?)

Code:

$.prefijos = function () {
    var i, a = document.querySelectorAll('a:not(#logout), h1,.postdetails,.cattitle'),
        copyright = 'written by Chalo  http://www.opensourcephpbb3.com';
    for (i = 0; i < a.length; i++) {
        var b = a[i].innerHTML;
        if (/\[([^\[\]]+)\]/.test(b)) {
            var c = b.match(/\[(.*?)\]/)[1].toLowerCase().replace(/\W+/g, '-'),
                d = b.match(/\[(.*?)\]/)[1].toLowerCase(),
                e = b.replace(/\[.*?\]/, '<span class="prefijo ' + c + '">' + d + '</span>');
            a[i].innerHTML = e
        }
    }
};
$(function () {
    $.prefijos()
});

Code:
 /* Topic prefix */
.prefijo {
 background: #22b7e0;
  color: #FFF;
  border-radius: 2px;
  display: inline-table!important;
  line-height: 20px;
  padding: 1px 4px 0;
  font-weight: 700!important;
  font-size: 14px!important;

  margin-left: 2px;
  font-family: arial;
}

And will show different links with the theme, they are separate
I mean, by clicking the button on the theme, only the "same type" theme can appear
Such as [Sports], [Music], [Video], [Picture]... etc.

        }
    };
    BBParser.initialize()
})();

I also used this code
Code:
$(function(){$(function(){

  $('<a class="sceditor-button" unselectable="on" title="Маркирай"><div unselectable="on" style="background-image:url(https://i.servimg.com/u/f52/20/25/52/85/oqqrsv10.jpg)">Маркирай</div></a>').insertAfter('.sceditor-button-strike').click(function(){
    $('#text_editor_textarea').sceditor("instance").insertText("[mark]","[/mark]");
  });

})});

to add it to the SCEditor. Both work fine but only in the posts, nowhere else in the forum even though I placed them in all pages (see the screenshot). I would like to be able to use the code everywhere but since my js knowledge is pretty limited I can't manage to make it work. Can you please help? Embarassed

Thanks in advance! I love you

Odd Code Showing Up

Description of problem

I was trying to add Online and Offline images and codes per threads I found here to add the coding. The codes did not work and after I removed them and now I have a small line of partial code showing over the profile area in posts.

I have went back through and I cannot locate where it's coming from. It seems to only show up when member and myself are logged in.

How do I remove this from the forums?

Help would be very much appreciated.

When the problem appeared : When a member tried to register the forum said a name was taken when in fact it was not.

Description of problem

To whom this may concern,

I thoroughly apologize if this has come up before and perhaps there's no solution - but I thought I would give it a shot. I just created my forum a month or so ago, some of my first members were encountering issues where they were being told their usernames were taken on my forum, when that was clearly not the case. I haven't been able to find how to fix this issue and was unsure if this is a registration bug due to site host and the system picking up usernames outside of my domain, thus telling my members their picked username was taken.. or? I was only able to fix this by setting up a thread for username changes and going in and changing to the chosen username via that way. Hopefully there's a better solution?

I thank you very much for your time and apologize for any inconveniences,

https://stopconjopi.darkbb.com/

I registered to join this forum, but my account (Disdaimonia) needs to be activated by the forum's admins before I can do anything.

Given that the last activity on that forum was over ten years ago, I don't believe that this will happen.

I was wondering if anything could be done to activate my account on that forum.

I asked a similar question before, but it didn’t solve it
I think my description may be unclear.

I recently found a teaching close to my idea, maybe I can replace part of the code to change it.
But I need to ask someone who understands
https://help.forumotion.com/t86303-topic-icons-how-to-add-a-solved-icon#555817

【my thoughts】
first step:
When he publishes a new theme, members can choose,
And appear at the forefront of the topic [It is additional]

The second step:
In the section, you can see [topic Prefix], which is a button,
And you can see related statistics at the top of the page, which is also a button

third step:
We can click [button] or multiple [buttons] at the top of the page,
And only see the same type of themes

For example: Maybe it is a topic of [Baseball], [Basketball], [Football], [Music], I click on one of them, and I can see "only see" topics of that type.

This can make too many topics clean and find what you want faster

-----
Because it is a Chinese website, I use the same color instead of the same type, for your reference

Description of problem

I attempted to post new photos on my forum. My preferred image host is Imageshack. Although all of the images are working properly and are not hidden, they are being redirected through a 2img.net link modification, and that has broken the images. On all of the previous images that had been routed through 2img.net, there are no issues. It only occurs with new images. I tried with both Photobucket and Imgur as well. Photobucket viewing is enabled on the forum. Photobucket was redirected through 2img.net and was broken, but the Imgur link was not. I had another member use their image host of choice, Imgbox, and it, too, was not redirected. The 2img part seems to be the issue. In the screenshot, you can see the previewed images and how the site changes the links after being posted.

Forum's own images not showing

Screenshot of problem : https://i.imgur.com/YqRN7lp.png
Who the problem concerns : Yourself
When the problem appeared : A few months ago
Forum link : https://www.thedarkcity.net/

Description of problem

The forum's own images don't load, resulting in the screenshot shown. No background, or custom icons, etc. And the layout is also affected. User avatars also do not show, but images embedded into posts/comments do show normally.
Adverts on the page also seem to show normally.

I'm using Firefox, on a Mac. Both browser and OS fully updated.

I've asked around, and apparently no other user is having this problem. It just seems to be me, and I have no idea why.
It seems to also be happening on other Forumotion sites I try to visit, inclluding this one.

Additional: I have checked other browsers, and my anti-virus, and have not got any ad-blockers.
I have been advices by both Firefox and Apple (Mac) support that this is an issue with the forum, and not with the OS or browser.
On further investigation, I've also found that each time I clear my own cache, the forum momentarily works. Then, once open, as soon as the first cookie appears from the Forumotion forum, the problem resumes (no site images). I have again been advised by Firefox support that this is an issue with specific cookies coming from the forum and Forumotion.

Many members are having problems accessing our website/forum. I believe it may be related to an SSL security certificate issue. I can access the forum only via Safari on my iphone browser.

When I ignore the warning and try to advance to the website I get a "ERR" error from Chrome. It says the server location is: http://m91.maxns.net/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Custom memberlist doesn't work

Technical Details

Forum version : #phpBB2
Position : Founder
Concerned browser(s) : Google Chrome
Who the problem concerns : All members
When the problem appeared : A few weeks ago
Forum link : https://www.warriorcatsnl.com/memberlist

Description of problem

Hello,

We've been experiencing some problems with our custom memberlist and can't figure out why. It's been working fine sinds 2016 and as of a few weeks ago members started to report problems with the avatars not showing up.

This problems seems to be happening most in Google Chrome, but also has been reported with Firefox.
I've let them try removing cookies and disabling adblocker, but that doesn't seem to be the culprit of this problem.

I hope someone can help us out with this! C:

Changing specific sub-forum style

Changing specific sub-forum style

Hello everyone,

In this tutorial we will show you how to style a specific sub-forum instead of having all subforums styled the same way.

Preview Result

This will be the result after finishing this tutorial:
Topics tagged under phpbb2 on The forum of the forums Screen29

Installation

To install this and have the specific subforums of your choice styled, you have to follow the below information.

Template Editing

Go to Administration Panel > Display > Templates : General > index_box and edit the template. Once you are there, follow the edit information below based on your forum version:

#PhpBB2, #PunBB, #Invision
Find:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
  <tr>

and replace it with this:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
  <tr class="forum_each" data-forum="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}">

#PhpBB3, #ModernBB
Find:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
            <li class="row">

and replace it with this:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
            <li class="row forum_each" data-forum="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}">

#AwesomeBB
Find:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
  <div class="forum-section {catrow.forumrow.FOLDER_CLASSNAME} {catrow.forumrow.TYPE_SECTION}">

and replace it with this:
Code:
  <!-- BEGIN forumrow -->
  <div class="forum-section {catrow.forumrow.FOLDER_CLASSNAME} {catrow.forumrow.TYPE_SECTION} forum_each" data-forum="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}">

After you do the change in the template, save it and press the green cross to publish the template.

CSS code addition

Go to Administration Panel > Display > Pictures and Colors : Colors > CSS Stylesheet and add the code based on your forum version:
#PhpBB2, #PunBB, #Invision
Code:
.forum_each[data-forum*="fXX-"] .row1.over {
background-color: darkred;
font-size: 16px;
}

#PhpBB3, #ModernBB, #AwesomeBB
Code:
.forum_each[data-forum*="fXX-"] {
background-color: darkred;
font-size: 16px;
}

and once you finish adding the code in your CSS click the Save button to save your CSS.

Explanations

In the CSS codes above you see this part:
Code:
[data-forum*="fXX-"]
. What you need to change in that part is the XX based on the category you want to change. In order to find the one category you want to change you simple click on the category and check the link above.

If the category you want to change has a link
Code:
https://{FORUMNAME}.com/f1-your-first-category
then the only thing you need to get is the number after the first slash.
Code:
/f1-
is the one to get from this example. Here it's /f1 so the number you have to add is 1.

In other words, you simply change XX from the above code with 1 and so on. You can do this to as many categories as you wish.

Hope you like this tutorial and you find it useful!
Best of luck to all.

Rainbow username gone?

When the problem appeared : I noticed after a few months / years of absence that my rainbow username java code stopped working but i cant tell when exactly
Forum link : ( link is hidden, you must reply to see )

Description of problem

Hello. Back in 2015 I used to have a JAVA code making so the admin names were always in rainbow color along with a crown icon besid it. I came back recently and noticed its been gone but I havent touched anything in ages (knowing im the only one who can acces the administration pannel)so im guessing somethings changed in the forumotion coding itself which disabled my customised code or huh the site just dont support it anymore.

here is the JAVA script I used to have:
Code:
$(function(){
  multiColor(1, '<strong><font color="#FE0A01">T</font><font color="#F3A405">h</font><font color="#9BFF00">e</font><font color="#57D652">l</font><font color="#20A0BF">m</font>a</strong>');

  function multiColor(id, html){$('a[href="/u'+id+'"]').not(function(){return $("img",this)[0]}).html(html)}
});

Note I recently tried to tweak it using one of you tutorial but it didnt work.

and as for the crown icon beside our name is also stopped working
Code:
a[href="https://lfdp.bbactif.com/g1-foundator"] {
    background: url("https://2img.net/i/fa/admin/couronne.png") no-repeat;
    padding-left: 19px;
    padding-top: 2px;
}
a span[style="#1C95FF"]!important strong {
    background:url(https://i.servimg.com/u/f71/14/67/12/66/crown_10.png) no-repeat;
    padding-left:19px;
  padding-bottom: 5px;
  padding-top:0px;
}

I deleted my old one I used to have that stopped working also and used one from here, it worked for a few minute then it suddenly disapeared when I was working on my categories.

When the problem appeared : couple of weeks
Forum link : https://themuckyplace.forumotion.com/

Description of problem

Hi,

This is my first post, I joined the Forumotion forum to report a problem.
Since a couple of weeks the forum themuckyplace.forumotion.com is extremely slow, been waiting for the problem to resolve by itself, but unfortunately that's not happening.

Because the issue stayed, I decided to run a sitecheck on Sucuri.net. (Link to scan result)

The scan came up with a warning that malware was detected :

This page includes a JavaScript/iframe from adstune.com that is blacklisted by Sucuri Labs, see https://labs.sucuri.net/?blacklist=adstune.com

https://adstune.com/ap/index.php?lang=en&dim=728x90

I don't know if this is causing the site to run slow, but it's possible.
Can you help me to clean up the mess and fix the forum so it runs normal again?

Kind Regards,
Canner

Description of problem

Hi all,
Strange problem. Rndom links are added to text posted by all users.

I recently changed the link colour in the administrator pages so that links are visible. Now it shows that there are hidden links !!

For example, look at https://sm0vpo.forumotion.com/t383-strange-link (withou logging in, view as a guest).

Words in the text have become external links "Link Added by VigLink" (mouse-over message). Link words include:
wire, shelving, furniture and system

At https://sm0vpo.forumotion.com/t376-welcome-new-users-kalyanprodhan-and-slim-jimmlinked words include:
furniture, home, design, mirror, wire, wood and modulators.

Q1 - Has the forum been hacked?
Q2 - Is this deliberate advertising shown to unregistered users?
Q3 - Is this dangerous to my users, resistered or otherwise?

Very best regards from Harry Lythall - SM0VPO
