the "code" button in post reply Empty the "code" button in post reply

Post by Hobo606v2 December 11th 2011, 7:41 pm

Can someone please explain to me how it works and what it does.

I have HTML code in some of my forum widgets etc but if I try and post some html within the "code" brackets, nothing really happens. (its the icon between the quote and table icons).

Just wanted some clarification on what I can do with it.

Cheers

The code bbcode tags won't work in the widget.

I think this can work for you.

Thanks for the reply but it doesnt really answer my query.

I can put HTML code in fine within the admin panel.

I just dont understand what the "code" icon does or how to use it within the "post reply" .

You have given me some HTML to put in a widget which I can do already.

The code tags can be used while writing a post. The code will appear in its code form when the tags are used.
I told you about the widgets, because thats what i thought you were looking for. Wink

thanks again.

So to clarify - all the code does is change the text input within it to green, allowing people to copy it for use within the admin panel?

Seems rather pointless!

I am not really understanding you.
For example, i own a html forum & want to add a html code in one of the posts. If i add it without the code tags, it will mess up my whole forum for that page. When i add the code tags, the code appears as is & does not mess up the forum.

Do you understand what i am trying to tell you?
