Google Sitelinks In Search Results
Hope this is the correct section, if not apologies
We have noticed we only get two sitelinks below our Google search result, these are the shortcut links to certain areas of your forum beneath your Google search results like the forumotion link below
Most websites (if not all) we have looked up show 6 sitelinks beneath, (like forumotions) why do we only get 2?
Although we don't do too bad in Google, we would like to do a lot better, searching for a few relevant keywords doesn't always bring our forum up in the search results yet browsing Google for other things is comes up frequently, how can we improve the results more for the most likely keywords people will be looking for?
Does anyone at forumotion offer SEO services or is this something that could be offered for a subscription or one off fee in the future, pretty sure we should be getting better results than we do currently? although I accept it could be worse
Also, what do these tags ‘noodp‘ and ‘noydir‘ actually mean and how do they effect how our forums are crawled & ranked?
Thanks

Re: Google Sitelinks In Search Results
it all depends on how many members and activity you have on your forum.
also all the info Google bots gather from your site,. i mean i know Google do offer things to add to their search engines, but you would have to contact them to see what they offer.
Also add more meta tags , plus if you have your own domain this can help, and also having a name that is not used by others, something that will stand out from the rest and is unique.

Re: Google Sitelinks In Search Results
Hi Kirk
We have close to a thousand members and the forum is active daily, we get crawled by Google, Bing & Yahoo daily, Google especially are on or appear to be on pretty much all the time. We have only been going since February.
We have our own domain with the main keyword people would search for in the title, isn't there a limit to the amount of keywords you can have?
When carrying out a keyword search for Google bots it came back as keyword not in title? But it does under Yahoo.. strange
