I have users trying to register on our forum but it will not let them stating: "This email address is invalid", even when the address is valid. What can I do to correct this?

Hi,
This is caused an anti-spam system. You can deactivate it via: Admin panel >> General > Security > Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. = No & save

Hi Darren,
I have done everything that you suggested and still get the "Sorry, but this e-mail address is invalid." error message.

Re: Registration Email Invalid
Weird, that setting should cater for both Emails and Usernames?
Can you post the domain of the address used? For example, @hotmail.com.au or @Yahoo.com

Re: Registration Email Invalid
Thanks for that.
I can't seem to find a work around, in any situation
Unfortunately, it seems like the anti-spam system has once again, got it wrong lol.
You will have to wait until one of my colleagues comes online to report the issue to the techs/developers to put the email in an exclusion list, if one exists..?

Re: Registration Email Invalid
Hello !
You have several users which can't register ?
They all have this type of email address : @sbcglobal.net ?
Edit : I've tried, it has nothing to do with @sbcglobal.net
I suggest that your user try to register with another email address, because our security system doesn't allow email address that seems to be false or that may not exist

Re: Registration Email Invalid
Ok, well it is a valid email address and quite a few people use it...
Anyway, I had them create new email address and that is what they used to sign up.
Thanks for the help.
