Solved What does it take to make a usergroup classify as "moderator" completely?

    Post by 1supermiguel March 4th 2012, 8:57 pm

Hi. Just wondering, what does it take for a usergroup rank to count fully as "moderator"? Like, they are placed in the "moderators" group in the "special users" section of the admin panel and they can like ban members or modify character sheets and what not? I want to make a new usergroup for my forum that will count fully as a "moderator", but i'm not sure how to do it. I have i guess you can call them "sub-mod usergroups" in which they have some mod powers but only on the forum posts and nothing else but i can't figure out how to make any of them full mod groups either. Please help, thanks! Smile

Check the box for moderate for the new group in each of the forums in the permissions:
Administration Panel > General > Forum > Forums & Categories

P.S. Ranks do not give you the power, but groups do.

For a group to have moderating power, the moderate box has to be checked. Then the group can delete, move split, garbage, or merge topics.

Ok, but all of them have to be checked right? For they to be full official moderators?
EDIT: Like all the boxes in the mod section right?

All the moderate boxes do not have to be checked, only the areas you want the new group to moderate.

All right. I understand. But when i only select a few boxes, the members added to the group do not appear as mods in the "special users" section. I am trying to find out what it'll take to make a group appear there.

Yeah. In the Admin Panel, when you click on "Users & Groups", there is a section in the "users" box titled "special users". When i add a member to these, i guess, sub-mod groups, and yes they have mod powers in some parts of the forums, they do not appear under the "moderators" tab when you click on the "special users" section in the "users" box on that page. It of course shows the Admins when i add new ones, but not anybody i add to these, i suppose, sub-moderator groups, since i guess they don't classify fully as mods in the server system of Forumotion/My Forumotion Site's Admin Panel. But back to my original question, how do i get the users to count as moderators, after they've been added to a "sub-moderator" group on that page?:|
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. Thanks to all whom helped! Very Happy It was much obliged! Very Happy Topic can be locked now! Smile
