Problems with Image Verification [solved]
I just set up my forum to have Image Verification, according to the directions at Tips and Tricks (Thanks Caihlem for posting it and Zinex for writing, it was very easy to understand!)
Everything seemed to go as planned until I tested it out. I logged out and clicked the new Register button, it directed me to the Image Verification page. When I clicked the image it requested I get a popup error saying "Whoops! Something is messed up! Try shift-reloading this page before you submit the form.
Not quite sure what shift-reloading is. So I tried a couple things. I held down the shift key and clicked the submit image and it opens a new window, with just a white page, no url listed. I also tried holding the shift key down and clicking refresh, and I get the error popup again.
Can someone please help me? I would really like to have the image verification for both of my forums.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
it sounds like you may not have set it up correctly, you should be able to go back in to the site you made it on, just make sure there is no problem with the link you put in to redirect members to, once they have clicked the image verification
Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
Thanks Typlo.
zinex I did go back several times, checked and rechecked, and I can't find anything that is off. At least I can't see it.
The redirect is the same when I checked it again. Which is the url on the page where one would sign in.
I am using JustHumans. com for my verification.
Typlo, let me know what you might come up with. Maybe you can see it.

Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
i had a go at registering and see what you mean. The only other thing i can think of, is that you have a custom domain name. The register URL you are redirecting to, is it to your custom domain name? and if so, in admin>>>general>>>forum address, right at the bottom of that page have you set it to force all redirections to your custom domain? i am going to test the image verification out again myself just now incase its a fault with justhumans.com
Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
Okay i have an answer, something seems to have changed since i made the tutorial as the only way could get the image verification to work, was by going into the HTML page i added it to, and adding the form tag around the javascipt code for the verification like below:
give it a go and let me know if that solves the problem
- Code:
<form><script language="JavaScript" src="http://verify.justhumans.com/verification.js?k=9181c1a03e92ab0fc46ea854cd&t=1"></script>
</form>
give it a go and let me know if that solves the problem

Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
your very welcome though i think the tutorial may now need a little update
Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
I have one more question for you, regarding this.
I noticed that there is also a clickable Register text below where you would log in, which is right next to "I forgot my password".
If people click that register instead of the flashing register button above on the header, they will not get the verification page. It goes directly to the registration page.
Is there anyway to fix this?

Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
okay i had a look, and i dont quite understand how your register facility is working...i clicked the flashing register and did the image verification, which shoudl then redirect you to the registration page...but instead it redirects you to the log in page...which new users wont be able to do as they wont be registered. You would need to set the image verification to redirect to the registration form of the forum, not the log in page, or you wont be able to get any new users.
For your intial question, at the moment there is no way to remove that register link, however spam bots will not click that, as they are not programmed to go about registration in that manner.

Re: Problems with Image Verification [solved]
Okay thanks!
I did realize that my re-direct was wrong and changed it. You must have tried it right before I changed it. I had misunderstood it the first time when I read the tutorial. But when I re-read it to check something, I realized I did it wrong.
But thanks for catching it. If you could, and u have time, could u check it again and see if it's directing to the registration page now? As far as I can see it is.
But since you went there and it wasn't, I want to make sure that it was because you tried right before I made the correction.
Thanks alot!
btw....nice avatar! Is that your daughter? Very cute!
