new member doesn't show up

There was something strange going on with my new members. I have approval needed by admin (me) ticked for new members to join, that doesn't seem to be working (seperate question on this forum). I tried it out with another email address for myself. Now I can the new member's profile (via the email link I get as admin), but they're not on the memberlist. I don't seem to get the emails to approve new members at the moment. This is nearly a day ago. What's happening?

do you receive other emails okay from the site (bulk emails you might send out?) as perhaps your email is blocking forumotion emails.

For any inactive members for the time being, go to admin>>>users and groups>>>inactive users. you should see any waiting in here and can activate them
