Is the moderator group set up for auto-subscribe?

If the moderator group is set for auto-subscribe, that mean those members who are added automatically will have moderating privileges on the forum. Is that what you want?

Then uncheck the auto-subscribe option for the moderator group.

Following up on what he said,

The "auto-subscribe" feature is for when you want members to automatically join it. Such as ranks for when they reach certain post levels, etc.

I'm assuming you thought it meant that you would automatically subscribe to the group, as in joining it.

Also, make sure that no private user groups are created accidentally, like the forum accidentally made them a private user group with moderator privileges. It's not likely, it mainly happens when you manually assign the user the Moderator status.

    Also,
Like I said a few seconds ago - the Moderator group isn't really a Moderator group until you give the group Moderation privileges.

Just because you name it Moderator doesn't make them a Moderator technically.

You can make a forum-wide Moderator group, or assign individually permissions to different users for different sections.

Reply if you have anymore questions.
