Solved I changed the url address of my forum

Post by musictraining March 25th 2012, 8:21 pm

I changed the url address of my forum that works fine, but still works and the old url. (the old address redirects to the new address) What can I do to delete my old address? (I have not bought any domain name, simply, I changed the url from admin panel--general--forum address)

Oh, you can't. That is for members to be sent to the new URL.

    I read it!
They spent more than 48 hours
    my old address: http://musictraining.forumgreek.com
    my new address: http://musiceducation.forumgreek.com
I changed my old url address from the 23/3/12, but it still working. How much should I expect for the old one to no longer function?

Some times you have to do it twice.
Other then that the only thing i can think of is having a pro admin look into it and perhpas change it for you.

I have never had problems changing the address, although it can take a while before the old address no longer works.

So the pro-admins may not be back until Monday or Tuesday, I am not sure how the Easter holiday works in France, But in the States many people have off on Monday as well.

But give it to Monday and if the old link it still working then we will have to pass it on to a pro-admin.

Is there another way to delete my old address? I must remove the old one because I have a problem with google (I have removed from the organic results of the google because of
duplicate content (many members of my forum did copy and paste from
    other sites in my forum)

Finaly, if I can't delete my old address, may I create a new forum and to convey at this all of my old forum topics?

You can create a new forum & convey it to your members. You cannot take the posts/topics to your new forum.

So, If I change again the new address for something less like the old, it will stop the redirect to my old address?

Ok. I'll try for this. It takes some time to stop the redirect?
