Banned but Not Banned?
Hello. I'm a new member of a forum someone else made with forum motion. I've been trying to work with the moderators on the site to see if we could fix it on their end and have thus asked around three of them. No one could help me.
The forum, upon attempting to go to it, immediately says that I am banned. I've cleared my cookies and my history to log myself out of the forum and it has not worked, I've asked the moderators and they've said they've not blocked me and there is nothing they can do.
I've even tried accessing it on Google and the only way I can view it is to view it cached. And when I try to log in that way, it gives me a critical error message. Did I do something wrong? I'm guessing that if I haven't been banned by the moderators that it's probably something to do with my IP address change? I didn't have this problem until I moved back home with my parents and stopped using my school's wifi.
Above is what I got when I tried to log in Cached and I get the first image if I try to create a new log in.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
Only a admin on the site can confirm if someone has banned you by mistake. You should probably ask the admin of the forum rather than the moderators.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
Hi,
This could be caused by a simple mistake of an administrator.
Can you please ask your friend, the administrator, to go to: Admin panel >> Users & Groups >> Ban Control > IP Address > Insert yours & Save.
Please, also give him your IP Address (A simple google search away )
You should now be unbanned for the forum

Thanks. I thought that might be the problem. I'll ask around. And yeah. >.< Sorry about that I miss spoke. I was talking to some of the admins on the forum. I'll try again.

Hi Steve
The SPAM filter is completely different to user's being banned.
Are you the admin of this forum, that the member is banned on?

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
Steve, I cannot stress enough the difference between the SPAM (Stupid Pointless Annoying Message [Posts]) Filter and the Suspicious User System - neither of these codes interloop, and neither can cancel each other out. The SPAM filter CANNOT ban someone. The SUS coding can temporarily disable an account which requires a user to confirm their a human by a simple CAPATCHA code upon LOGIN, it doesn't show a 'banned' screen.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
Hi Steve, if you are having problems and that you're not an administrator at the topic creator's forum then I invite you to open up a new topic for your problem since Darren has clarified that these two problems are related in any way. Thanks.
Re: Banned but Not Banned?
I just spoke with an administrator on another board and now they've tried making me another account, and checked to see if my IP is blocked, etc, and it's all clear on their end. I'm still wondering if it could be something on my end, but I've checked everything I can think of and I've even tried checking on other web-browsers and it doesn't work even then.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
I've officially spoken to five different admins on the forum I'm using and they still can't figure out the problem. We think it's my IP address still, but it says that my IP isn't blocked when they check it.
I've also tried virus scan at this point. I'm seriously stumped as to what's wrong. I've even re-tried some of the things I'd tried earlier. I'm no longer sure what to do at all and I'm very frustrated about this.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
Did you try to login using firefox?
Try this,
Try this,
Start>Run
In the window that comes up type in the little box 'cmd'
then 'enter'
A window will pop up, type in
'ipconfig/flushdns'
then 'enter' again
It will report back that it has 'successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache'.

Re: Banned but Not Banned?
I just tried that and it didn't work. =/ @_@ I DON'T UNDERSTAND~! *headdesk* It's officially been exactly a week since I started having this problem and It's like some sort of medical mystery. Like cancer or something. I'm at a loss.
A list of things I've tried:
- Asked the admins on the forum I'm using
- cleared my cookies and browser history on ALL of my browsers.
- ran virus scan
- accessed the forum from google
- viewed the website cached through google, could now view the forum's main page, but couldn't log in, explore the site, or register of course...
- Waited a few days
- had the admins check if my account was banned
- had the admins make me a new account
- had the admins check my IP address
- attempted to change my IP address
- cleared the DNS
- tried to learn how to use a proxy and failed.
Not necessarily in that order, but I've tried all that. And the problem hasn't changed and it started when I moved from my college three hours away to here. I'm not even logged in anymore and I don't have an account either, but it still says I'm banned. Could it possibly be something overly simple like, I'm typing in the URL wrong?
I don't see how that could cause me to have this problem. I've tried everything short of wiping my computer completely and rebooting it. >.> Can we please avoid that though? I've got like... So many programs I can't get back if I do that.

He did that... He even deleted the account and made a new one.
**Edit: Nevermind. Someone on the forum finally figured it out. Thanks for all the advice everyone.
