How do I make my forum private?

Hi guys,
This might be weird, asking to make a forum priviate, but how do you do it?
I don't want people to be able to find our forums, or register on it without my consent.
I'm working on a project and need to keep it for just a select few of us to post when we need to.

Hello & Welcome

You can make your forum private by hiding all the forums on your index, to do this, go to:
Admin Panel > General > Categories & Forums > Click Permissions button > Un-mark the 'view and read' box for guests > Save

Make sure to do this to all your forums, so guests will be directed to a log in screen first before they can see the content/forums on the index.

Now to prevent automatic registration from un-wanted people, you can set the forum member activation to administrators where an account needs to be approved by an administrator first before he/she can log in/access the forum, to do that, go to:
Admin Panel > Users & Groups > User Options > Find ' New accounts activation :' Set it to Admin > Save

Now to check for pending users, you can go to:
Admin Panel > Users & Groups > Inactive Users > Activate members there.
