Messaging

I have a tech question....

I have noticed on the navigation bar, when it says 'you have (x) new messages' it is not very noticeable,
so my intention was to put a small red pic like this one:

next to it, so i went to display>headers&Navigation>you have no new messages (modify)> and it has two sections
one for 'you have no new messages' and one for 'you have (x) new messages', so the one that says
 'you have (x) new messages' I put the URL ( http://www.ecademy.com/misc/new.gif ) into the picture URL textbox,
then I click 'save' and it says 'you must provide a menu name'.............. ?
But it already has?

Any ideas?

Display only images in the navbar : NO
