HTML editor - formatting buttons do not work

I am running IE9 under Vista.

I am trying to use the html editor to produce a newsletter.

However, the formatting buttons do not appear to work. It will tell you what the button does when I hover over it, e.g. bold, but nothing happens when I click it.

Isn't IE9 exclusive to Windows 7 and above?

None the less, what happens when you clear the cache & cookies of your browser?

I think BrianK tried it with both. I have had a similar glitch with the HTML editor on my forum, and I have Windows 7 HP. Once the editor froze on my forum and the whole thing crashed. Hope this helps.

IE9 is for windows 7. How you installed it I have no idea.

@ MichahelLi: you're use phpbb2, so you could have installed coding in your template that crashes the editor.

IE9 runs on Vista as well as Windows 7.

I am talking about the admin panel where you can write a newsletter. On this screen there is an option to use an html editor.
