    Solved Credit transfer

Post by TechGeek July 31st 2012, 7:17 am

My current domain is www.repairbotsonline.com. The domain has been given the last two years by forumotion. Thank you. I want to create a new forum with a new domain name and use the credits from the previous forum to buy a domain. How do I do that? Thanks in advance.

Well that's not good. These credits (Money) has been sitting for a while in my forumotion account. Seems it's held hostage. Either spend it with Forumotion or I can't have it even though it was given to me by my forum members.

When members donate, they are donating to a certain forum not the founder.

Its nothing as though you are held hostage. The forum members donated the amount in the form of credits for the betterment of that forum. If you wanted personal money to be donated, you can always ask the members to donate the money to your paypal. That way you are free to do anything you want.

No the money was donated in exchange for my hard work on their computers. The forum was a computer support site. I worked hours and even days on their computers.

You are assuming why the money was donated.

Moot point now. I have renewed the domain

You should've asked the members to send the money to your paypal for the services you offered instead of asking them to donate it to your forum.

You are assuming again. I didn't ask "them to donate it to [my] forum."

They done so on their own account along with "thank you" emails for my work.

And you know their intentions because you have spoken with them?

Please don't double/triple post. Your post need to be separated by 24 hours before bumping, replying or adding more information. Please use the edit button instead!

We are not here to judge what happens between you & your forum members. We are here to help you provide a solution & thats what we are doing. In the future, you can ask them to donate to your paypal account. There is no way otherwise. Hope you understand. Wink

I perceive your reply as sarcastic, uninformed and unnecessary. For your information the donations were made more than 2 years ago and have been sitting in my account. At the time the donations were made transferring credits was allowed. Once users were informed that credit transfers would no longer be allowed I replaced the forum donation button with one to my PayPal.

I now request this topic be locked as resolved since it is now a moot point.
