People joining forum and makes no posts...why??

On East Tennessee Symposium..there are individual (30+) who have became members and made no posts! They do place links and homepages in their comment section of their profile!

I know that Bots Google & Bing visits the site frequently could this be the reason for no posts and only links in their comment section?

For the individuals, who are interested in Advertising of Products and Services and there is a restriction as to where they can make a post with a link to Advertising of Products and Services and almost all have complied.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening ??????

They are spammers, you can just ban these users or delete these users.

How so?
They do place links and homepages in their comment section of their profile...but they only do this one time and a few have returned and signed in with no more post of links...just sign in and leave.

Well, then its for you to decide who is a spammer & who is not. I would've considered them a spammer.

I am not trying to be argumentative...just trying understand the reason for the posts!

This is what I consider spam to be and I have received it......

"Real spam is generally email advertising for some product sent to a mailing list or newsgroup." Is there a way that this could be happening and not showing up on East Tennessee Symposium!

If so...than I want to correct this problem!

Please consider this solved...I was able to find my answer from an internet search as to why this is considered spammming1

I found it was considered by many as "comment spamming".

I did not ban anyone for now...just not allowing comments and web site links in a member's profile! This removed their comments and the links in their comments!
