Send Form via PM (from non-registered user)
I've made an application widget for my group and placed it on my forumotion portal page. I would like to figure out the proper coding for my widget so that a non-registered user can send the form to my PM (private message) inbox.
I've tried different codes, but whenever I hit the "send" button (as a test), forumotion asks me to log-in to my account. How can I send the application form via PM without registering/logging in? Is this even possible?
Please let me know if I can provide any further information... thanks so much!

It cannot PM you without you registering/logging on the forum.
The other way would be to add a form, it will send a email.

Re: Send Form via PM (from non-registered user)
Hi Sanket, thanks for the quick reply. That's how I currently have it set (to send an email). The problem I'm running into is that not everyone has a "default email" program set... and when they click "send" some have been getting an error message (because of their settings, not anything on Forumotion side).
Anyway, I was just looking at the "contact us" button at the bottom of our forum. Is there any way to co-opt that code so that once they fill out our form, it will place their input into a similar text box that pops up from "contact us"?
Our forum is here: http://mastersatarms.canadian-forum.com/
We're a gaming clan---you can see the application and challenge us info---it's currently set to email but that doesn't always work because of the end users' settings. Would be great if we could somehow use the code that currently works with the "contact us" button so that instead of opening their email program, it opens the same message box as "contact us". Is that possible???

How about a third party form.
Just google for free forms, it doesn't require outlook or anything.
But most of the forms, have a limit. But, you can search for free forms who don't have that limit.

Ok, that looks like an option and pretty straight-forward. I've googled free forms... can you recommend any of them?
Thanks again!

Honestly, i have never used any of them on my forums. These are the well known ones though, from what users mentioned.

Okay, I'm really trying to avoid having anything with more advertising (which happens with most of the free form sites).
Free forms are definitely a viable option--but is there any way to use the "contact us" code? Whatever that code is seems perfect for my needs and wouldn't require using an outside service. I'd love to keep it all "in house" with forumotion if possible.
I just figured that there was some way to code my widget so that instead of having "form action=mailto", have the form action code to be the same as on "contact us". Can you help there?

The contact us is quite limited.
However, here are a few codes which could work.
Please check here.

That's the exact thread that I was checking out earlier. I'm new to coding though, and can't figure out which part I should use in my "form action." Can you help there?
Thanks again so much for your help.... and your patience!! Would love to get this working!!

Re: Send Form via PM (from non-registered user)
Thx Sanket--I ended up using a free form like you suggested. I had hoped for PM but it's the next best solution. Many thanks for everything.
