Is there any way I can hide members email addresses in profiles if I was to open up profiles for the members to read? Thankyou in anticipation for any help.

Re: Viewing profiles
In members profiles in "Registration Information - View My Profile" every member's email addresses they registered with is there, so if I open up the profiles under Special Rights / View the Profile for Members they will surely see the email address of the member they are looking at. Members asked initially if email addresses are private and confidential and I have assured them they are. Some members are concerned that they cannot view another members profile because they get the message "Error - you have'nt got the rights to access this page". Rightly so, as I have not got the special rights open for members. Is there any way the members email addresses can be hidden?

Re: Viewing profiles
Thanks SLG, we almost posted together. I don't see 'an email one' in the contacts tab, highlight fields "profiles" I only see website / ICQ number / AIM address / MSN Messenger / Yahoo Messenger / Skype.
Edit to say I answered your previous post without realising that you had stated you were wrong. I'll await an answer to my problem!

Re: Viewing profiles
The email addresses for users you mean? You don't want them to see their own username?

Sanket:
Corrie does not want members to see others' email addresses in their profiles, not usernames.

Re: Viewing profiles
I need help with this as well.
How can one at least remove the email icon () from a profile contact page?
And when viewing a PM, the same icon appears under the sender's avatar. Hovering over it reveals the email address. Is there any way to remove this?

So if I open the profiles up in special rights for all members to see each other's profiles you are assuring me that those members will not see the e.mail address of another member? This is really important because members asked if email addresses are kept private and confidential when I first opened the forum.

Re: Viewing profiles
Others will not see the emails, except for administrators of the forum and the only way someone can click to send someone an email is if the member themselves have that listed in their preferences.
If they do not want to allow people to email them, they can disable that in their own profile, which is very simple to do.
