Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Did you get the navbar from ForuMotion originally? If so, can you link to the topic it's from? This'll help in creating the new button.
Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Thanks, Caliburn.
I'm sure the nav bar came from forumotion but I was not involved on the first day of site set-up. I can find out.
In the meantime, let me try to get that link for you but please explain further - what do you mean by "link to the topic it's from." ?

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Scorpion, thank you for your try. However, in my request I asked for the letters to be in the same font and style as the example I gave, and your letters are all caps. Also, the font does not look the same but maybe that is due to it being all caps?
(See the example of the "members" button above.)
The colors you picked are nice but I prefer the green and blue colors I gave in my example because they will go better with my website.
(See green and blue examples above.)
Also, the flashing in your button is too frenetic. The pulsing in the example I gave was more what I was hoping for.
Is this possible?
Thank you for your help!

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Anything is possible., with some time. Let me see if I can figure it out.
If i knew what the font was i can make it match.
Here's another one of my trys...

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Thank you, again!
I like this try! It has exactly the right amount of pulsing. And the slight shading in the background matches perfectly! Thank you for working on it.
The letters are not exactly what I wanted, though. I don't know the name of the font but maybe you can match them without knowing the font name.
I made this comparison so I could examine them:

We need to match the font as close as possible, that's for sure.
Also, the word "new" doesn't look like it's the same size as the word "pm." Is that just an optical illusion?
I think the letters are slanting upwards.
I appreciate your hard work so far!

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
It could be an optical illusion, or maybe it's Photoshop playing tricks on me?? I did it in a rush yesterday. Give me some time s i can figure out which font you need.

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
@BlackScorpion: I think your "new" and "pm" aren't aligned- it looks like "pm" is one or two pixels higher than "new", hence the illusion that "pm" is a bigger font.
Also, I could be wrong but I think the font in the initial one is simply Serif. GIMP isn't loading for me and I can't make gif files in Photoshop, but the font seemed to make pretty nicely on my screen, so give that a shot.

RicYui, that's very good!
I really like it. Is there a way to make the letters a bit bolder (fatter)?
Thanks!

Yeah my photoshop is acting up, I'll try Seriff and see how that goes.

Do you want lowercase letters like the member button? I see you asking for something different. Please clarify this.

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
I do want lower case like the members button, but I was willing to look at an upper case example. RicYui's try was very good for upper case but the letters seemed to lack substance. Which is why I asked for them to be "fatter."
Ideally, what I would like to see is one example with lower case in the correct font and one example with upper case, also in the correct font. This is because I wonder if the lower case "p" in "pm" will hang down too low and look weird in a flashing mode.
If this makes sense.
Thank you so much for continuing to work on this.

Thank you for clarifying that.
Which one of these do you think look correct?

This one is the closest to what I want but you only have to look at the "m" and the "e" to see they are not the same font. Nor do they have the same feeling. "members" is a much more open font, not condensed at all. It kind of rambles, if you see what I mean. "new pm" is nice but it's tight, and compact, and it doesn't match "members."
Otherwise, the colors, the flashing, and the way it all lines up is perfect! I thought there was an easy way to identify fonts - some kind of font identifier, like in WORD. No?
Could the font of "members" be Hedley New?
Update: I put the word "members" through a font identifier. It asked me a number of specific questions about the shape and style of the letters. The result = font: Angro.

Does this help at all?

Re: New "new pm" button for navigation bar.
Not really, unless your willing to spend $54.00 for that font?
This is as close as i'm gonna get it, until such time that you find the correct font. Sorry.

Okay, understood. In that case, thanks for the two lower case ones above.
