Forum Privacy?

Hello All,

I recently created a forum and I need  it to be private. 
I went to forums and categories and unchecked all the options so that guests cannot view or post in topics. I did this for each category and forum I made. 
I also went to Forum directory and and made it so that my forum does not come up in searches. I also deactivated the traffic exchange. 
I also disallowed new members from joining and I have it so that the admin (me) must approve members who want to join (which in theory shouldn't happen because I don't allow new members anymore)

So in theory I should not have guests roaming around my forum. 
At the bottom of my forum I have to option to see who's online. There are always a handful of guests, but when I click to see what they are viewing it tells me that guests are browsing topics that I made private. 
This worries me as we are a writing group who posts our work up for critique. I only want members to be able to view the forum. 
So why is it saying in "Who's Online" that guests are viewing my already private forums?

Its possible that members have logged out while viewing the forum and that's changed their status to guests and therefore giving the false pre-tense that a guest is viewing your board.

If you have it set up correctly for guests to not see certain areas, they will only see the log in page when they try to look at something that is private. The forum will show that they are on a private page, but they will only see the log in page.

When I go to General, then Categories/Forums I select the Forum Permissions Control tab and for each forum/topic its says MEMBERS. So I assume I set it up correctly. Is there something else I have to do? I just checked again the "Who's Online" and it shows guests viewing forums that my permissions tab says is members only. 

It will say that, but the guests will only see the message that says, "You are not logged in. With the log in form."
