Groups question

i know mods and admins get panals but i made a group called web desighners how do you make them get a panal so they can change stuff to the site

Do you mean you want them to have access to the Admin Panel?

If that is the case then you have to set them up as an Admin. But then you create a Rank for Web Designers and then you assign them to that Rank.

yes thats what i meant how do you set them as a admin

You can go to "Users & Groups / Users" and click on the member you want to give Admin Rights. Go to the permissions tab then and set the "User level" to Administrator.

ya but now the username is in both web desighner and admin so it shows the admin color fer his name is there a way to just have him in the web desighner group without being in the admin group but still have acess on the admin panal

No sorry. As far as i know, the default Admin Group can't be deleted and contains automatically all users with admin rights. All you could do is to set the group settings of the sites default admin group to "hidden" and uncheck the "colorize group members" option.

you can just move the grpahic design group ahead of the admin group on the legend by changing its group rank number. Then the graphic design colour is highor priority so its colour will take presidence over admin.

I don't get it!! So it's impossible to have 2 groups with Admin rights?

You can't give additional groups Admin rights, yes, but you can make several groups where you can put different Admins in - thats quite a difference!

on my forum i have added my two admin to the same admin group as me, and then i created my own group, called owner/founder that i added myself to, and set it as number 1 group, which means i show up the orange colour of my owner founder group, and they show up the brown of the admin group but we all have the same rights. I prefer this as i like visitors to the site know whom to contact about advertising etc.
