    Solved People cannot create accounts on my forum

    Hello there,


    I have a forum flipchat.forumotion.com, but recently, when directing people to register accounts there in-game (it is for a Runescape friend chat based around flipping to make money), almost everyone is informing me that they are unable to create an account. I have no idea why this is happening, and one of my forum staff tested this out and found he could create one. I am not sure why this is happening and would appreciate any help you can offer. As I am sure you can imagine, it is quite troublesome, even more so due to the forum being a vital part of our running.

    It would help us if we know what exactly is not working.  Do the people get a message and if yes what is the message?

    They are saying it is stating "Forbidden new member" when they try to create the account. It is the creation of accounts itself that seems to be the problem.

    I have followed the link and cross-referenced with the settings, yet they are all as they should be with construction and holiday modes off, and registration allowed.

    The problem seems to be present for some people, and not so for others then. I am currently talking to a member in-game who is telling me it is saying how myself or another administrator is not allowing new members to register when, in-fact,all settings are as they ought to be from the link that Seth kindly supplied for me to cross-reference against. If it is of any use, this member in particular is using Google Chrome.

    So am I, so I don't see how it could be a browser issue.

    Have you tried advising him to try another browser?

    Have you had any other reports other than just this one member?

    The problem seems to be sorted now. Unsure how or why, but it has vanished. Many thanks to those that provided advice on this thread!
