Ok, so the issue I am having is that a user on my forum is unable to create a thread, however this is only an issue in one area. Everywhere else can start threads. What makes it even more confusing is that in said area, he is able to comment on threads made.

I have checked and he shouldn't have any issues posting or making threads as he has the rights to, but for whatever reason he is just unable to post there

Check his permissions
ACP>User and Groups>search users. click on his name. then it'll direct you to his profile, then find the permissions tabs, and modify it to your liking

Problem of permissions of your forum! The user cannot write or answer the subjects without having the permission of it. That is why I you sending towards this path.

General > Forum > Categories and forums > and in the legend to look at you what is the icon of "Permissions".

Thanks for the replies. I checked and he has the permission, but still cannot create a thread in the one area

What error message, if any, is this member getting?

You can also try resynchronising the user at:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Configuration (on the left, under Forum)
4. Scroll down until you see "Synchronize a user"

I resynchronized the board and just ok'd her permissions (which were fine).  I also asked her to delete her cookies to see if that will clear her problem.

I'll check back if I continue to have same problem.  She was able to send me a PM and one of her  posts made it to the board...but not ALL of them.  it seems to be sporadic.
