Opening and Closing times

Is it possible to have opening times and closing times, so that a moderator can be change it so that it's open or closed?

What do you actually want to be opened or closed? Posting? In this case, you or the moderators can only manually lock a thread.

Additionally, you as Admin can go to "Forum / Management" and click on this () button of the forum you want to close or open, and change the field "Forum Status" to locked or unlocked.

Not quite, just so only moderators can post in the forum, the rest can't even see it until the moderator opens it again. This is probably not possible but I want it...

you can still do that manually while editing the forum permissions in your admin panel... but it won't work automatically.

Well, you could go to "Forum / Permissions" and click the forum you want to hide. Here you will see a bunch of options to choose from (click advanced mode to get more).

Unchecking "View the Forum" and/or "Read the posts" etc... for guests and members, while allowing it for the moderators-group would do the trick.

But that'll be too much to do that all the time on every forum though...
Oh well, I'll have to do something else instead...
Hang on! Can you change the message given when you select 'Forum on Holiday' option? The forums will still be shown but it'll do the job. Or will moderators not be able to post?!
