Changing a Topic into a Forum

Hello,

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if it's possible to change a Topic that I've created in a Category that already has forum posts in it into a Forum itself.

Ideally, I don't want to have to erase the Topic if that means losing the Forums that are posted in that Topic.

I've taken a look and fiddled around the hierarchy and whatnot in the ACP but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

A bit confusing, you cannot post forums into a topic, but you can post topics into a forum.

Anyway, at the moment you can't convert a forum into a category or a category into a forum

Sorry for the confused wording.  My lack of experience in all this is the culprit.
