Transferring my domain

can anyone help/advise me on changing my forum domain to my personalised domian. My personalised doman is currently with namecheap, when i asked them to help me transfer my domain to this forum they said they could but it may not be sucsessfull and to contact forum provider for instructions and about cname

im really not clued up on forum stuff so need a little help with what to do and how to transfer my domain and finding what cname is about?
