Solved "Disallow to send new password" keep reseting to Yes

Post by Kael Edin May 2nd 2014, 11:56 am

    Hi,
I've been the founder of a private forum for about 3 years. The forum is http://armagr.forumgreek.com/ but it's closed for new memberships.

Over these years I have a moderator who more than often forgets his password and usually e-mails me to dis-activate "Disallow to send new password" and I'm always going in and set this option to "No". Since I'm the only one with administrative permissions, I can't figure out how this option is set itself back to "Yes" from time to time. Is it automatic? Is it happening for safety reasons?

I haven't faced any difficult challenges so far and that's why I haven't register to this forum sooner. Probably an error from my side.
Now, I have forgotten my administrator password and I'm not able to ask it via e-mail because the above option is again set to "Yes". I've registered here and I've red that I have to post twice before I can send a PM to solve my problem, that's not an issue. But what about the option above? Does it happen to everyone else as well? Is there a way to set it permanently to "No" so I don't have to trouble you for help?

Thanks for the great work you've done so far,
    Kael.

    Hello,

Please read this topic here: https://help.forumotion.com/t127211-password-problems-lost-your-founder-s-password

And then send a private message to either me or one of the staff members listed. You need two messages to send a PM so please reply here to meet that requirement.

It's been answered and I'm back in business.

Before closing it, does that setting change automatically from "No" to "Yes" or did I missed something in some other setting?

It doesn't automatically change. By default, it's set as 'Yes' as a security measure.

    Marked it as solved.

I'll keep searching that because it has happened more than once. Maybe something else triggers it.

    Thanks for the feedback.
