    Solved Password problems

    Post by Bluestarrox97 June 20th 2014, 5:07 am

I cleared my browser's history and cookies today, and now I can't get back into my account on the forumotion. I am logged in on my iPod, and I have tried to change it through the admin panel, but when I try to enter that password in, it won't work. I can't change it on my computer because the setting to where admins can't recover their passwords through email is activated.

Log in with the founder account here.

Scroll to the very bottom to the last option. Choose "Yes, remove it', and validate.

Also if you're logged in, is modification of the password allowed through profile ?

I've tried to change it that way already, but whenever I try to type in the password on my computer, the password doesn't work. I've tried this more than once, too.

I can't log into the founder account because I don't know the administration password. I'm not the creator of the forumotion.

Have you contacted another Administrator and request a new password from them ?

It can be changed by Administration Panel > Users and Groups > Users > Search Users > Modify

I just sent the other administrator a PM (using my iPod), and I asked him if he could help me out.

I've been trying what you're telling me about changing it that way, but the password seems to be invalid when I try to use it to log in with my computer. I even tried copying and pasting the password, but it's still invalid.

Sorry for the double post, but now it seems like I have to have my password to access the admin panel now.

And now I have exceeded my log in attempts. I can't try again for an hour and a half.

EDIT: My sister just told me that she thinks the reason why I can't log in is because there is more than one user with my username. I PM'd the other administrator and asked him to change my username.

Have you tried logging out first on all devices and re-log with your recent password? If you still can't log in, please let us know.

    Thanks.

I'm kind of afraid to log out on all devices because then I won't know when the other admin has changed my username. I think the website is confusing my username with another person.

Are you the founder of the forum? I believe normal administrators won't be able to change the information of the founder.

Also, I can track the username of the founder if needed.

I'm not the founder. I am not even sure who the founder is, to be honest. I don't think they come on the website anymore.

Is it possible that the reason for this is because there is another person with my user/display name? Because I am pretty sure that I have been putting in the password correctly every time I have tried to enter it.

It is not possible for a forum two have to the same usernames, it will give an error saying that the username already exists.

Also, if you are not the founder, you won't be able to access the utilities to change your password, the only way is through the 'Forgot password' link, I can enable this system if needed.

The forum link you provided doesn't seem to exist, are you sure that's the correct link?

It should be right, but maybe it doesn't work since I typed the URL out myself instead of copying and pasting it.

    http://www.warriorcatsworld.net/ Does that work?

The only problem I can think of this is that other admins may have set your account to inactive.

I suggest you to contact the other admins of the forum first.

I've sent the other admin a PM, but it's going to be a little while before I get a response. (It's nearly 2:30 in the morning for me right now, and the other admin is one hour ahead).

I might have accidentally inactivated my own account because earlier I actually could access the admin panel, but as I was trying to fix this issue, I accidentally switched something to where you need your password to get to the admin panel. Maybe I accidentally switched my account to inactive too?

Wait a minute, if my account was inactive, would I be able to get on my account with my iPod?
