Sorry if this Q has been asked before 
 
I think this is a fantastic idea:
"Facebook Connect module allows users to register and connect easily to the forums with their Facebook account"


But I simply can’t figure out how to get it to work – can I find a tutorial some where?

 
It is a huge challenge to get my facebookfriends to move their a.. and visit my forum: http://vimaler.danskforum.net/

I thought I could make an app and put it on my community facebook site : https://www.facebook.com/meretemaler

so my friends easily could log into my forum.  Is that not so??

What exactly is the problem, you click on the link above the support forum link, you follow on the on screen instructions, instructed by Facebook and then it should be given an APP ID code, you then enter that and then activate Facebook Connect option in the ACP.

You have to create a Facebook app to use the Facebook Connect.  Facebook explains how to create a Facebook app.  After you create it, you enter the codes in your forum's administration panel.  Members before you activated Facebook Connect will have to associate their accounts.

Keep getting this message: You App ID is not valid.
 

Obviously  I am doing something wrong

Several  hours later 

I finally got the "connect button" on my page.

Now I need to understand  what you are saying about: Members before you activated Facebook Connect will have to associate their accounts.  ??

Members (before you activated the Facebook Connect) will have to go to their profiles and associate their accounts to use the Facebook Connect option.

Okay - I will try to explain that to them ...
