    Solved Help! Litigation Threat

Post by Drive Easy September 12th 2014, 3:38 pm

I am fairly new to this place and also not very PC savvy. I received the following today:

Dear "amazonrefugees.omgforum.net" forum administrator(s), it appears that your forum doesn't respect our Terms of service. Our service is free, so we are urged to only display legal content on the forums.

Element(s) detected on this forum : Defamatory content and / or affecting the integrity of a person

You have until the 22-09-2014 to be in conformity. After this delay, we will have to delete your forum if it still isn't in conformity. This warning will only disappear after the end of the countdown.

I have now deleted the thread in question and wonder if I need do anything else to avoid my forum being removed? I might add that the guy who made this threat runs a rival forum (using another company) and has been abusing me and some of my members on it for a while, even going to the extreme of posting my own private address. I know I should complain to his forum "chiefs" but I simply don't have the energy. I suffer from severe depression, chronic anxiety and OCD, having lost my only son in December 2010, and simply getting through each day is a struggle without the hassle of reporting other forums.

Thank you in advance as this threat has caused me a lot of distress.

    Nicholas

    Hello Nicholas,

The date mentioned is the day when your forum is inspected. If you have removed the reported content and are in conformity with the terms of service, then your forum should not be deleted.

That I'm not sure of, but as long as your forum doesn't contain the following content you should be fine.
Defamatory content and / or affecting the integrity of a person

The problem is that a rival of mine/ours is determined to destroy our forum and has been sending complaints - and now this litigation - non-stop for weeks.

The litigation team will only take action if there is content on your forum that breaks our terms of service. Otherwise you have nothing to worry about; the reports sent in will be faulty.

Then your forum should be fine. I can understand that it can be alarming/worrying but when the date comes and there is no offending content on your forum, no action will be taken.

once your threads have been removed the team will look over your forum again on the date you was told to do it by and then if the posts have all been removed then they will remove the notice on your forum and all will be fine.

Any other reports sent about your forum will be looked at and then if found to be a fake report then they will just leave it as a fake report.

If you have removed all the posts then you now have nothing to worry about

    hello

I've sent a message to the litigation team. They checked you forum and told me the thread has been removed. So, the warning should not appear anymore Wink
Do not worry about the warning. If you follow the rule and respect the ToS, we won't delete your forum.

Keep quiet and enjoy your weekend

    Best Regards
