    Solved Possible "threat"?

Post by Menos March 20th 2019, 9:01 am

I received a p.m. from a visitor (not a member) in my forum that is probably an advertisement.. or a virus (?).
I din't press the link it gave before consulting with you guys.
Well, I will delete it anyhow.. but, should I be worried?

Removed because an email was included.

    Hello @Menos,

Yes, this is a spam message and you can just remove it from your inbox.

    Regards.

Thank you for your response. Smile
The members also got the same p.m.
Is there a way I could protect my forum from this spam?

They used to send spam mostly on the contact form..
but this time it came in the form of a personal message (they got smarter..).

    Hello again,

The best possible way to insure your safety is with an announcement for your members. Let them know that whenever they see a PM from a guest to just remove it from their inbox list. That way they will stay safe and you as well.

    Regards.
