Site Name colour query in header Empty Site Name colour query in header

Post by g7acu March 8th 2008, 3:21 pm

Hi guy's.
Apologies for raising query, but couldn't find any reference to this.
I've tried to add basic script to the text box for Site Name (as in admin>general>configuration) to change the text to a different colour than black, but each time I do this and save the script disappears, the text reverts back to original and retains it's black colour on homepage. I can add the script without problem to the Site Description field, but this then gives me a two colour site name in the header; black for the main title (which won't save properly) and the colour of choice that has changed the description.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

i know you can change the forums title colour in admin>>>styles>>>colours>>>Forum’s title color

Is it only the site name you want to change?

Mmm, thanks Zinex, but puzzled now. I'd trawled all through the colour options in admin before raising this query (don't like wasting folks time) and there's no reference to Forums Title Colour in my admin panel at all and just double checked before this post. I use BB2, is this significant?

what code are you using? i just checked on a phpbb 2 forum, it doesnt have the site title part in colours you are correct, so i went in to admin>>general>>>configuration and added <font color="FFFFFF">TITLE</font. in the site title section, it worked fine Smile

Thank heavens for that, I thought I'd gone mad and I hate posting tech queries when I've missed something.

I entered <font color=#056b9e>TEXT</font> in the Site Name box and the same string in Site Description e.g. <color=#056b9e>DESCRIPTION TEXT</font>. In Site Description, it saves and the string stays put, but as mentioned the code disappears from the Site Name box - weird thing is the site name changes colour for one viewing only in the preview pane, then reverts back to black! It simply doesn't save the instruction Confused

what happens when you press control and F5 when it reverts back to black. It may be a cache glitch, will you check for me please? Smile

Site Name colour query in header Empty Re: Site Name colour query in header

Just tried deleting all contents of the Site Name box, saved, then re-entered. This time, the header text has stayed the colour I've instructed, but the code still disappears from the text field box . This is fine as the header has stayed the colour I've instructed and not reverted back to black this time (although code's gone again), so I'll just have to assume the codes present, despite being invisible.
Perhaps a glitch? I've come across a few between the two version of CP.
Thanks for your time Zinex, I appreciate it. Smile

there does seem to be a little issue with saving certain things on the forum lately. I wont move to tech as is sorted for you just now and i think they are aware of the problem, glad it is working anyhow. Wink
