My forum is under a hacker attack!
prntscr.com/4w91lb
That is someone who is directing the attacks. His account was banned a long time ago. This is his site; eda25.forumsmotion.com
and is currently attacking the members and the site coding and priorities. He is taunting us with messages but we do not know who exactly the person actually doing the attacks is.It is suspected the entire site is trying to attack our's.Our site is alphaknightacademy.forumotion.com
Please help us as soon as possible. My name there is Freddy Fazbear. The owners are Dark Rose and Führer Lunarnox.Their ips are banned but they might be using a proxy server.

Re: My forum is under a hacker attack!
unless you download a file from the guy or give him your forum email or password theirs nothing he can do but run his mouth .. there nothing really you can do but limit the # accounts that can be created on a single ip and turn off email verification and turn on admin approval for the registration
.... also off topic u set your warning bar thing to be seen at the registration might wanna turn that off

Re: My forum is under a hacker attack!
I didn't set it the owner did, but I can change it.Also they can find vulnerabilities. There are tutorials online that don't require any registration.

Re: My forum is under a hacker attack!
if they are able to register without having to be approved then my guess is one of the other admins is approving them.. forumotion security is pretty good

Hello Freddy,
Most threats from rival sites are usually just empty threats. They try to scare you into closing, or restricting registrations of your forum; it's a pitiful tactic.. DOS attacks are not possible, due to request limits. Access to your forum's database ? The founder is not even allowed to it ..!

If you are concerned, twistedkilla mentioned some of the common precautions one can take. Another thing you can do is disable HTML if you haven't. Most of the events were taken care of recently, but HTML does leave your forum vulnerable to some malicious coding..mostly just some defacing of your forum via messages..
You can disable it here if you want :
Administration Panel > General > Messages and emails > Configuration > HTML enabled : Yes||No
Other than that I can assure you, that your forum is secure.
