Chatbox issues
For about a month now, our chatbox has been very buggy. Sometimes it just wont refresh and show new messages until manually refreshing the page or until someone else says something, sometimes it will take up to a minute to actually send and display a message, sometimes messages go missing entirely, and sometimes it just takes forever to load. Any fixes to this? Its getting to be fairly annoying.

Re: Chatbox issues
Does it happen all the time or sometimes, because I've had my share of issues with the chatbox.
EDIT: You can try to resynchronize the forum.
Administration Panel => General => Forum => Configuration => Tick Resynchronize the forum => Save

Most of our members who use the chatbox use it in the full screen window, they dont use the tiny chatbox which we have on the homepage, and I see no option to have that script run on the fullscreen chatbox page. Would running it on the homepage even effect the fullscreen page?

Re: Chatbox issues
Unfortunately the script will work only if you're on the homepage. For the moment we'll have to wait for the technical team to come to a solution.
Does clicking the Refresh button help at all for the moment ?

Re: Chatbox issues
Pressing refresh doesnt really seem to do anything and the chatbox issues are even worse today. Messages are sometimes taking quite a while to show up and even getting mixed up in order if you send more than one message before the previous one shows up.

Try deactivating and re-activating it.

Re: Chatbox issues
If anything that just seems to have made it worse, after reactivating it and logging in, it automatically logged me off, and auto logged off two other people who tried to join. Joining again after that seems to have been fine for now but still experiencing major lag and all the other issues.

Re: Chatbox issues
Are there many members using it when this happens?

Re: Chatbox issues
Currently 7 members in chat, but it tends to happen no matter how many members are in chat.

Do you have any codes related to the chatbox?

Re: Chatbox issues
Having the exact same problems, been like it for a few weeks now.....it makes no difference if there are two members logged in to the chat or six members logged in, it is very erratic, Members are getting fed up with it now and not coming on......
Hope it gets sorted soon or my Forum is going to suffer.

Re: Chatbox issues
Try to deactivate and then activate the chatbox from within the ACP. Did you already try that?
It's in the MODULES tab -> Chatbox -> Configuration. Select "Activate the chatbox" > NO, press VALIDATE, then select "Activate the chatbox" > YES, press VALIDATE.
It may come back to life again!
Enjoy & Best Regards!
Samantha.

Re: Chatbox issues
Sorry, don't intend to highjack Byne`s topic, but yes SamanthaS ive tried that and it has made a slight difference for the better, at least for me its usable for now, but members are still grumbling......have thought of maybe disconnecting again and then re activating to see if this makes any difference?
Will keep an eye on this topic to see how it goes, sorry again Byne for interrupting your topic, hope you get it sorted .....

Aww... that's painful! I know how you feel! I'm glad it made some of a difference. Could you have them clear the site's cookies? It might just make THE difference, yk.
And yeah, I understand you're breaking into someone else's topic, but hey, we're all trying to help eachother out, here, right?
Now, I don't wanna have the "Brilliant" nor "MVP" word out here on me yk, but a lil' +1 'd help if it did. And so'd "AWESOME".
So, HEY! Keep us posted PLS! I'm anxious to see what helped you guys most! K?
Sammy.
