    Solved Terms of Service Question

Post by Castiel December 12th 2014, 1:52 pm

    Hello,

I have a question about the Terms of Service and roleplay.

Forumotion ToS wrote:Forums that does welcome or promote warez, piracy, hacking, cracking, spamming, attacks against networks or servers, pornography, racial hatred, crimes against humanity, inappropriate activities on the servers, or any other actions which violate any applicable laws, aren't allowed.

Now, I was wondering if pornography also applied to mature roleplays. I have seen forums on which characters roleplayed acts of sexual intercourse and I was wondering if it was allowed according to the Terms of Services. I need to know so that I can pass on the message to my members and include in the rules whether this is or isn't allowed.

    Regards,

    Cas

Because forums can have a wide range of ages, you need to have content that can been viewed by a wide range of ages.  Also one person idea of pornography is different from another, so you run the risk that someone would report pornography on your forum.  Pornography includes images, videos, links to pornographic sites, written sexual content, etc.

Correct, and that's why my question leads me here. Does Forumotion consider mature roleplaying content as pornography? In the end, the report goes to Forumotion and I'm wondering what Forumotion's stance is on this matter? Is the act of sex written absolutely not tolerated, or perhaps tolerated if the forum clearly indicates that it has certain topics (which could be marked with a certain tag to avoid readers from reading it unwillingly if they are browsing) with such material?

Tagging something does not stop people from reading it.

I would not take the risk by allowing anything sexual related on my forum.
