One of my members has stopped getting Notifications via email about New PM's or New Posts. It just started happening in 2015 it was all good on December 31/2014. Is it a problem with my forum or a Universal Problem. Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

If those options are checked, check the notifications in preferences.
Profile > Preferences
• Always notify me of replies
• Notify by e-mail when an Administrator/Moderator sends me a Private Message

Hi
I am the member that Dermy mentioned in his OP.
I have made no changes whatsoever to my preferences/notifications on my forum account. Here are two screen shots showing my current settings. I use the same email address as I have on this account here and I use Outlook 2013 to access those emails. The Outlook is working with no proplems. I have checked my spam folder but there are no emails there.
The proplem only started on 1 Jan 15. Before that I had notifications up to and including 31 Dec 14.
I am getting neither PM notifications or reply to threads notifications.
I am using Windows 8.1
Thank you.

ok to the members do the following turn all your settings to No then save then turn them back on again
To the founder please follow this really easy step
ACP >> General Tab >>
Forum >> Configuration >> right at the bottom of the page find >> Resynchronize your forum : tick and then save.

Hi Ape
Many thanks for the reply.
I have done as you suggested and I await another member of TBF to PM me and make a reply to a thread I am watching to see if it's now working as it should. I'll let you know.

Update:Â Unfortunately deselecting, saving and reselecting the notification options has not worked. I have even deleted the forum cookies but to no avail.
Oddly enough I am getting notification for replies on this support forum, so I am sure it's not my PC or email software causing the proplems.
I have also changed the email address associated with my TBF account to a different email provider, but this has not fixed the proplem.

I've tried your founder's shortcut, but that does not work... It's weird because I also receive alerts from this website, but the other three I don't receive any from apart from the ones that are sent via the 'email' button directly to your email.

Yes, and I'm very confused. I don't think any other members are having this problem on the sites I am on.

No not all of the forum are on the same servers so some may get it and some may not and All our Support forums have there own servers that are not linked to your servers in any way so not all the bugs will be shown on all the forums.feathertail wrote:So it should work on the sites it's glitching on for me as well?

So what would I need to do to sort it?

ok if you have Hotmail, Live, or Gmail add this address noreply@forumotion.com to your contact lists and then make sure you add its as a safe account that is what the problem is it's finding The Email address as maybe spam and may be blocking it.feathertail wrote:So what would I need to do to sort it?
If you have AOL then you will need to change to someone like Gmail, Hotmail, or live.

KK, I have another proplem which may be related:
I said earlier I had changed my email address to try and combat this no-notification proplem. Well, when I checked my profile I noted that the address had not in fact been changed. I tried again but I keep getting an odd error. Here's what I mean:
1. My profile page. I typed in a new email address (blanked out) and pressed SAVE.
2. I am asked to type in my current password, which I do and then select SAVE.
Â
3. When I press SAVE on step 2 I am taken to this page which asks me to SAVE again but does not show what it is wanting me to save.
4. So I press SAVE again and I get an error that says it's an invalid email address. Something is definitely not right with the TBF forum

With respect, APE, the proplem is not that the emails are being blocked by not being on a safe sender's list. Why would this all of a sudden happen? Why are the "blocked" emails not appearing in my trash or junk email box if this is the proplem? Besides which the forumotion address is already in my safe senders list and always has been.

Not 100% sure why this happens as its the weekend there is no staff member in the head office so i can not ask them to look at this for me i have ran all the tests i can from my end and there all working fine.
Give the Email address you want to change it to to your Admin and he can then change it for you in the ACPÂ it maybe that there is a small problem with the data setting sent to our end that is the problem. if we get more members having the problem i can then report the problem and get a ticket number but as there is no staff in the office at weekend unless the servers go down there is not a lot we can do but keep an eye on it.
me and all the rest of the staff work for free from home in our own time and not in the main office so we are stuck until we get more problems and our head admin comes on line

I'll try your suggestion with giving the admin my email address to change.
Thank you.

Myrm I fixed the problem [I think] see in the Admin Controls under User Options there was something called Allow Members to Change their Emails, for some reason it was Turned Off [so members couldn't change their Emails] really Sorry
