    I'd like to keep members of my forum to only people I know. How can I keep just anyone from signing up and logging in?
    I have Checked off "New accounts activation" to admin, yet I still see that people can sign up and log in without my approval. How can I make it so that I (Admin) can approve members before they are able to view the forum?

    They can sign up and attempt to log in but they can't actually log in until you or another admin has approved there account.
