Me and my fellow admins of our website want to redesign our site completely, but, we were curious if there's a way to make it where members could still interact somehow but not post. Primarily can we as admins put the forum in construction then install a chatbox for them to converse in while we work on revamping the entire site? Or when it's in construction are members not allowed to access it at all? Thanks for any help. forum url=http://xwlleague.forumotion.com/forum

I believe when it's under construction, there is no way to access it unless you're admin.

That's what I'm seeing as well. I'm also hearing, from one of the others, that the max time it can be under construction is only 7 days? Shouldn't that be a minimum? Is "on holiday" better suited to what I need?

If you need more time, all you have to do is reset the days to 7 again. lol

Do you know if there's a way to make it where the members can't see anything on the site at all? I see with forum on holiday that they can't post or anything but I wasn't sure if that prevents them from actually seeing anything look wise on the forum. Or if we would have to do "maintenance" and then keep resetting.

You can put a Shout Box on the under construction page so then your members can still post to you and talk to other members.
You can only set your forum to 7 days and then it will reopen so what i would say is on day 6 change it back to 7 until you have done your change

Would doing this option prevent them from actually seeing any of the changes look wise to the site? If so then that seems to be the best thing I can do. As we need to make it where we can adjust the look and everything but they don't see it at all.APE wrote:You can put a Shout Box on the under construction page so then your members can still post to you and talk to other members.

For putting a chat type thing on the under construction thing that would go under the "construction page message" right and could we use any chat like the chatbox we have now at our forum or would it have to be a specific chat?

You can not use the FM chat Box as you need to be logged in to the forum and that chat box will not show when its under construction you would be better off making an account with
Good Site to use

Alright. Where would I place that exactly for them to be able to use it but not see the rest of the site. Would I put it within the box where it'd display our under construction message?
